The original cover for this book, a black background with red lettering is what I wanted and liked, but it did not show up well on the Internet.

Then I found a cover that was a perfect match for the relationship of two major characters within the story, the boy Nate and his hanai mother. The Hawaiian mother's hand around the boy's head displays her protectiveness of him over the years. I hope readers agree.
