Jenni Frencham (jennifrencham) I really, really enjoyed this book. I have heard before about the dangers faced by albino people in Africa, but it was neat to see it portrayed in a YA novel.

Kefira | 9 comments I liked this book a lot. There were too many good luck coincidences, specifically meeting the kind blind sculptor, to make it the book exemplary, but the focus on this human rights issue was interesting and I'm glad to see it portrayed in YA lit.

Devera Chandler (developyourya) | 32 comments For me, this book started out a little clumsy and slow (perhaps a metaphor for beautiful main character, Habo). However, I strongly recommend you give the book until around page 50 or so. The book really takes off. The story of an albino Tanzanian boy (age 13) and his and his family's difficult life because of his color. This book is thrilling, sad, and a perpetual roller coaster of emotions. I thoroughly enjoyed it and could not put it down!
