Found this on Facebook. A link from Sarah A. Hoyt, who knows a little something about book marketing:) Hopefully some of you guys will find it useful.

L. Fabry (lfabry) | 16 comments It is useful. But for anyone with a DIY mindsed and even a simple photo program like GIMP can put together a decent cover, aka the cover for Ordinance 93 was done with a free photo, free software, and a few chunks of my own hair torn out.

Don | 17 comments I'll probably use at least some of her advice next time. I was in a big hurry to publish, so I just used the CreateSpace cover that came closest to the content, which wasn't very close at all. Some people have liked the cover though. If enough people buy Fringeman to pay for it, I will likely hire someone for the cover of the planned second edition which will restore most everything I cut for the first.

Gina M Jordan (awolgina) I loved the cover itself but it didn't fit that particular story, though some might have argued he depicts the slave conditions?

Don | 17 comments That was what I was hoping people would think. I had a different idea for the cover that I think would work very well, but I didn't have the funds to hire it done. I still have my fingers crossed.

Henry Brown (machinetrooper) | 236 comments I'm looking forward to Part 2 of the article (or is it out already?) Sometimes I find a nice image, but don't know how to "dress it up" with borders or whatever to make it look proffessional.
