Does anyone want to sprint.?

message 3: by Lucky Duckie (new)

Lucky Duckie What is that Joi?

A reading sprint is when you partner up with someone .... or there is a group. One person picks a time and a length (say, :30 for 30). You can pick any length of time .... and each person reads their book for that amount of time at that time. And at the end of the time, each person posts how many pages they read. And it's optional if you want to discuss what book you're reading and how you like it.

message 5: by Lucky Duckie (new)

Lucky Duckie Oh. Okay, I'll do it with you :3

I'd be up for one. My book is Maybe One Day and I've already started crying so I'm like "nope, will not read anymore, but I need to... but nope" because I don't want to cry for the next 300 pages which is what I think will happen lol

message 8: by Joi (new)

Joi | 62 comments Mod
Lol. Heehee... :) You can join us @ :00

message 9: by Lucky Duckie (new)

Lucky Duckie So we start on the hour, but how long are we reading for?

15 minutes as listed above :)

I read 17 pages. I have like 2 pages left.

message 12: by Chelsea (new)

Chelsea (chelc13) | 1467 comments Mod
I think I hit 20 pages at 15 minutes, but I had to finish the chapter which made 24 pages. I think I could have read more, but my vision got blurry - this book is really ripping my heart to shreds. I started crying when I first started the sprint, and just as I ended it, I was crying again!

Joi | 62 comments Mod
Lol...it must be really sad. I just finished Delirium.

message 14: by Chelsea (last edited Feb 08, 2014 07:27PM) (new)

Chelsea (chelc13) | 1467 comments Mod
It is. It's about two best friends and one gets really sick (view spoiler) and it's told in the perspective of the friend who isn't.

What did you think of Delirium? I still have yet to read the rest of the books in that series.

message 15: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 1098 comments Anyone up for more sprints?

message 16: by Lucky Duckie (new)

Lucky Duckie Joi, I liked Delirium. The author's pretty cool :3

Joi | 62 comments Mod
Oh wow....seems interesting. I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it ... and I doubt if I will pick up the next two books.

I can go for another 15 to 30 minutes. I have to be done by 11 though because I have to watch a movie.

I know what you mean. I'm sorry that you weren't a huge fan of the book. What book do you think you will be reading next?

message 21: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 1098 comments I found it boring, but I didn't read the whole thing.

message 22: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 1098 comments Alright Chelsea! Time and length?

I'm like the complete opposite. I could not get into Before I Fall, whereas it took some time to get into Delirium, and I wish it had been a little shorter, but overall I liked it.

Maddison wrote: "Alright Chelsea! Time and length?"

I don't really set a length limit, but how is 20 minutes?

message 25: by Maddie (new)

Maddie (maddisonbruce) | 1098 comments Yeah 20 minutes is good! Shall we sprint for 20 minutes at :40?

message 26: by Chelsea (new)

Chelsea (chelc13) | 1467 comments Mod

Heather Chelsea wrote: "I totally understand what that's like."

Yeah I am reading Legacy and I am just longing to pick up Frostbite so I can continue the series!

Chelsea (chelc13) | 1467 comments Mod
How are you liking Legacy? I put it down to read Maybe One Day because I've been dying to get my hands on that book longer than Legacy.

Heather Chelsea wrote: "How are you liking Legacy? I put it down to read Maybe One Day because I've been dying to get my hands on that book longer than Legacy."

I am very confused and I am in the middle of chapter 9...I have to do chapter summaries at the end of each chapter just in case I need to go back and see what happened in the chapters before.... I may put it down and read frostbite

message 44: by Chelsea (new)

Chelsea (chelc13) | 1467 comments Mod
I never read Frostbite, I couldn't get into the first book in that series. It just wasn't for me.

It is really big and the writing makes it seem longer, but I think it's interesting so far.

Heather Chelsea wrote: "It is really big and the writing makes it seem longer, but I think it's interesting so far."

How far have you gotten into it?

message 48: by Chelsea (new)

Chelsea (chelc13) | 1467 comments Mod
Not very far because I was studying for exams throughout the week, and then when I did get the chance to pick it up, my copy of Maybe One Day came in the mail. But for most part if the beginning catches my attention, I usually end up liking the book with only the possibility of the ending being bad ruining it for me.

Do you know a round about to what chapter you are on?
