Michele (nerdmichele) The Gaston County Public Library is participating with seven other public libraries in a Regional Shakespeare Read this March and April (2014) to celebrate the 450th birthday of William Shakespeare. Gaston County (NC) will be reading Romeo and Juliet.

Free paperback copies of Romeo and Juliet will be available at the following locations in Gaston County (NC) starting February 14th, while supplies last:

- All branches of the Gaston County Public Library
- Gaston County Museum
- Little Theatre of Gastonia
- Zoe’s Coffee House

Copies of Romeo and Juliet are available for checkout at all branches of the Gaston County Public Library, or you can download free ebook copies online.

Michele (nerdmichele) If you're not a fan of Romeo and Juliet, you're not alone -- Samuel Pepys (pronounced "Peeps") watched the play when it was first performed and declared it "a play of itself the worst that ever I heard in my life, and the worst acted that ever I saw these people do".
