Nick Mathers pulls Owen Butler from the freezing waters off the Norfolk coast, but Owen’s love can carry Nick back from the edge of oblivion.

Abused horrifically as a boy, Nick Mathers has come to terms with his existence as a man. Mostly. Other days life seems a little much. Especially when Nick knows he’ll always be alone.

On those days his thoughts turn black. He walks the Norfolk coast and considers the frigid embrace of the waves. And then, one stormy night, he finds someone who’s tasted just that. The beautiful stranger on the beach is near death, and Nick rushes him home to slowly nurse back to health. As he does, he finds a love unlike any other. Owen Butler’s body is as warm as the sea was cold, his heart as big as an ocean. And Owen is a man who swears to repay the favor. Nick can yet be saved from himself, and he will see that he is indeed a man…

What people are saying about Worth Keeping:

“We have to re-iterate that this Author will always be an automatic one-click for us. Her writing is flawless and her flawed characters are completely lovable. There’s always something quirky and fun in her stories as well as drama, angst and heaps of passion! We can highly recommend!!” – Gitte & Jenny – Totally Booked Blog

“The cast of supporting characters adds depth and color, and the subplot of impending danger is artfully woven into the fabric of two men learning to overcome their own limitations, to open to the possibility of love and to redefine who they are. … this is a novel… Worth Keeping.” – Beach Bum Books

“Susan has written what I found to be a truly wonderful story about two damaged men that fit together in a way that gives them a relationship that can be everything they never dared to dream of.” – T. Kurtz, Book Addict

“…it is a beautiful story of survival. It is a story of two men who fought for their lives and there are times they can trip and fall, but somehow they do manage to pick themselves up and face life. Embrace it. Enjoy it. Love it.“- Johanna Alba Bilbao

“Susan has been hailed as a genius writer of male/male literature. Her Saving Alexander has been nominated for several awards and has been reviewed widely. Congrats on all your success, Susan. You have earned it.” – Gay Lit Authors

The first stop on the Worth Keeping tour is the lovely Sid Love's blog where Susan shares a secret or two...

"SMC: The welcome I’ve had from this genre has been truly mind blowing, the camaraderie between fellow authors and bloggers/reviewers like yourself so intense and warm that I’d be daft to leave it behind for something else. It is truly a genre all on its own and I’d love it to get far more recognition than it does.

SL: Not only Stripped Bare and Saving Alexander, but also “Worth keeping” is averaging at over 4 Stars on GoodReads. On the scale of 1 to 10, how happy and satisfied are you with the reception?

SMC: Ah, you’ve asked a very sensitive question there. Ask anyone who knows me, including my publisher, and they’ll tell you I have extremely high expectations. While I’m loving the attention my books are getting, I always expect better from myself. It’s in my nature never to be satisfied with my performance and my poor publisher tears their hair out when I grumble about wanting to do better. But I know I’ve done well for only being in this writing industry less than 18 months, coming from nothing to having three best sellers, and a dedicated and brilliant fan base like I have and I know I should give myself a pat on the back. So here’s me doing that *slaps herself silly* before someone beats me on the head with a heavy book in frustration."

Brrr, it's mighty cold here. I suggest we all grab a copy of this book to keep us warm. If you want the low-down on the story check out our In a Nutshell feature of Worth Keeping. If you're not sold within the first few lines, I'll eat my hat....and I'm willing to say that (inspite of the cold) because you are going to love it! It's full of angst and pain but the love between these two guys saves the day. Love always saves the day. http://ow.ly/tgnLa ‪#‎romance‬ ‪#‎fiction‬

On Day 2 we have double the fun for you, as Susan stops by the lovely Mandie Foxylutely Book Review Blog. Mandie has awarded Susan a whopping 5 stars for Worth Keeping! "I read this as soon as I received it and I have found myself reading snippets and then the full book again just last week. It had that much of an impact on me. I was also so pleased that the author is donating some of the proceeds to NSPCC (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children) a major UK charity which I strongly support.

This is an absolute five star read for me and one I would wholeheartedly recommend. It delivers everything a good book should – the emotion of love and loss, the humour of life and some serious romance and hotness interlaced. A definite page turner and one not to miss."

What a busy day we have in store for all Susan Mac Nicol's fans. The next stop on the Worth Keeping tour is Live Your Life Buy the Book where Susan discusses the need for emotional equality for all. "And, I also know that these victories are hard won, that there has been a lot of heartache and angst in the process and that there is still oh so much work to do. Lives have been destroyed, people have destroyed themselves after being tainted with the stigma of being ‘different’ for loving someone of the same sex as them and nothing can change that. But there is wonderful and untiring work being done by so many people around the world to get their voice out there and tell people that they are simply human beings, and that’s all that is required to be in love or get married and share a life together." http://liveyourlifebuythebook.wordpre...

"I want to talk about book bloggers in this guest post. Yes, the people without whom authors wouldn’t get as much exposure as we do. The people who tirelessly soldier on, reading and reviewing books for the most part so that authors get their dues.

I find them one of the most valuable and treasured resources I have." Susan Mac Nicol

A fabulous 5 star review of Worth Keeping from the Twinsies! "Now there was some great humor in this book involving a monkey named Socks! I loved this character because just when it was getting heavy…boom Socks just comes to the forefront and has you cracking up! How great is that..you can be on the verge of a good cry on one page then laughing out loud the next. This makes for one fantastic read! Susan really nailed this one and I can’t wait for more! So if you haven’t read this GO GET IT!!" http://www.twinsietalk.com/?p=395

Head on over to Cup O Porn where Susan discusses male pole dancing.

"Recently, I’ve discovered a fascination with pole dancing. Not just any sort of pole dancing but the sort performed by men.

One of my future releases, Waiting for Rain, has this element running through the book as one of the MC's, Rain, fancies himself as a performer and loves to dance. He's also 'nominated' by his boyfriend, Toby, to perform in a charity function to raise money for a young girl who needs an operation.

So, of course, as a diligent and committed writer, I had to research male pole dancing. And boy oh boy, did I get sucked into a world of male beauty, elegance, masculinity, drive and commitment to the art. These men are incredible - some of their movements should be illegal. The more I watched videos of these men doing incredible things with their bodies and in some cases defying gravity, the more my respect for them grew as they a) did something that in the past only women did and b) saw the levels of training and dedication it took to make them as good as they are." Join Sue at Tammy Middleton's site today, for a review of Worth Keeping and a guest post on how Sue markets her work. You want to know how Sue does it? Read on..

"Start building a 'community' – most e-publishers are big on this and even though they may be a full service publisher they may want their authors a little established before they begin their promotional activity of book blog tours and interviews/reviews. Find people to follow, convince one or two to follow you and you have started building.

Tweet often, maybe once or twice a day at max - the more you regularly tweet, I find the more people start following you. I don't know how this all works but it does. Tweet relevant stuff, something interesting or about something else you're interested in or that will even help other authors - this makes people realise that you're not just telling them what you had for breakfast...

Build your Facebook page using your existing contacts and find other authors who will become your friends, via associations like the Romance Writers of America, Romantic Novelists Association here in the UK, anywhere you come across. The more friends you have, the more people you're reaching out to.

Build yourself a profile on Google+ and on sites like Smashwords, Goodreads - these are popular sites for people to connect plus when you search your name on Google it comes up with more results.

Get yourself a blog - I use Wordpress but tumblr is good too. Start writing on your blog, telling people what you're doing, and keeping them updated on your progress. Obviously every time you update your blog, let everyone on FB and Twitter know about it."

More tips over at Tammy's site.

"Owen had lost his boyfriend two years ago, not only that, but he died in his arms after being shot in a robbery. This becomes a pain he can no longer bare to live with and decides to take matters into his own hands. Owen leaps into the ocean, off a boat hoping this will end his pain. But it doesn’t, the waves push him ashore to the lighthouse and this is where Nick finds him. He is brought back to Nicks home where he nurses this beautiful man back to health. Along the way, something happens between them; a magical spark of life. The kind of light that one needs to carry with them in order to live.

But like any love story, it cannot be a simple tale. There must be conflict, there must be an antagonist. Read this book and imagine with me, an ugly world of where these characters put their demons to rest." Scott Burkett

"This is a dark love story with a lot of mystery and suspense. I loved the six degrees of separation aspect to the story line as well, in the end, all things were connected. People, places and things that were seemingly random throughout, actually converged for a tumultuous ending." MM Good Book Reviews
