Did anyone start yet? I'm going to start this evening. Oh, important note, Please add a warning to each post in which you plan to include spoilers!!!!!
ummm, so this book isn't working for me. Archie's story is not keeping me engaged. I think if it doesn't pick up on my commute home this eve, I may have to ditch it. I think I need a spoiler! Can someone please send me a message and let me know there this is going!?How is everyone else enjoying it?
Don't give up. I read the book about 12 years ago and it was a fantastic read. Archie's story is slow, but the novel is really about his daughter and the twins.
I just finished Archie's story and things do pick up a bit. I'm not really connected to the story yet, but I am hoping that will change as I get further along.

I started reading again and just couldn't get into it. I think schlepping through this book for too long was bound to put me in a reading slump. I may be able to get through it - later in life. Hopefully everyone reading this book will keep this discussion going. I'm going to head back to the Clutch Reading Challenge List and pick something else.
I started a few days ago and I'm also waiting for something interesting to happen. I'm going to stick with it (I hate leaving a book unfinished even if its horrible) but I'm trusting Esther that it will get better. I read NW last year and wasn't a fan at all so I came into the book nervous but I've heard so many good things about it.Hopefully it picks up soon.
ok...thought it was me. NW was a challenge for me and I set it aside to attempt again later. the posts to forge ahead are encouraging. i may not set this one aside for later just yet...
Took me a long time to get through this book but after a certain part it picks up the pace. I think I just had a problem relating to the father and some of the description was a bit too much for me (I'm a big dialogue gal).
Hello, everyone!I also am part of the Historical Fiction group read earlier this year, but I've been AWOL since January and feel bad about unintentionally ditching the group.. Anyway, I've been dying to discuss White Teeth since February.
I actually didn't struggle at all in getting into the novel. Zadie's wonderful writing hooked me from the get-go. I loved Archie's story, but sadly found the development of his character lacking. Overall, I really liked it a lot. I gave it 4.25 stars!
I'm looking forward to discussing it further.:)
