Finally done! I didn't want it to end but somehow I knew it was ended right. The concept of life waiting to be fulfilled! I've never buddy read before- do we have to read a certain number of chapters a day or something along those lines? Or can we just read at our own paces?

Either! I've done ones set up in a number of ways - where people are reading at their own pace and just jumping in with updates/thoughts every so often (just make sure to use the spoiler tags!), a set amount of chapters per day, or just a goal timeline to finish (like within 2 weeks). So whatever sounds best to you I'm down for! And if we set a chapter goal no biggie if one falls behind or a little ahead, just give a heads up on where you are in case you post anything spoilery!

I' taking this one to work tonight and working on the first couple of chapters - looks like they're fairly long ones in this book!

Just finished the first two chapters. I'm digging Gaiman's writing style - the only other of his work I've read was Coraline and I actually did the audio version on it, so I'm not gonna lie, it took me a few pages to adjust to his style but I'm hooked.

I like the side characters here and am definitely intrigued to learn more about Silas. I'm curious why (view spoiler)[ Jack killed the family and if we will see more from him as Bod grows. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ I adore all the quirky characters here! Liza is interesting and I love how Bod wants to get her a stone. Such a compassionate kid considering how little contact he has with anyone living. Intriguing that Jack is reappearing and I look forward to seeing what happens with him.

The chapter with the ghouls was so much fun and I would love to see that played out in a movie someday! (hide spoiler)]

Ch 5-6

(view spoiler)[ I loved the danse macabray! Gaiman's writing really shined here, it was magical. The audio version adds bits of music between chapters and it adds to the overall feel of the story; I like it alot!

I think it's cool they found a way for Bod to go to school, to be part of the living world for a bit as well. His interactions with other kids was great - I especially enjoyed him standing up to the bullies. I also was cracking up thinking about him correcting the teachers in history lessons! (hide spoiler)]
