Jacob Hanson is a Sheriff of a small Wisconsin town called Friendship. Diphtheria has taken over the town. Families after families are dying. There is also a raging forest fire approaching Friendship. Jacob does what he can while he sees his town disappear. A very unusual read.

The Scarecrow by Michael Connelly (kindle)
Main Character: Jack McEvoy, reporter and previously in the book, The Poet. Jack is fired from his job at the L.A. Times due to downsizing. He teams up again with F.B.I. agent Rachael Walling. A woman's body is found in a trunk of a car which begins the investigation. I highly recommend this one, you won't be disappointed. IMHO, this is Connely's best so far.

Sounds good. I may have to move this up in my TBR pile to my next book to read.
