Emma (rpblcofletters) What if you tried writing a shorter story for each of the subplots, then pick and choose which parts to use and combine it into one bigger work? I've never tried it, but it might work -- now I really want to though :D

I'm not saying that I have this conquered, by any mean, but have you tried just making a list of them? I find that if I keep a list of these things, completely finish the first rough draft, and then go back and study things it's easier to pick what needs to stay/go/be developed.

Emma (rpblcofletters) I actually have that problem too. I once mentioned in a story "he loved churches. In face, his night-job was designing them." But I never carried that through...
