1. Knitting Rules - another great book by the yarn harlot, Stephanie Pearl McPhee. If you've read any of her others, this one is more of a technique book rather than a collection of her blogs.
2. The Rescue by Anita Shreve (audio book) It was good. It's about a young man who falls in love with a woman who is an alcoholic. She gets pregnant, they get married, etc. This year I want to keep track of how many audio books I listen to vs. how many print books I read.
3. Mystery Mile by Margery Allingham (audio) Okay - I liked it. This was Albert Campion's 2nd appearance. I'm going to try and read the first one.
5. Small Miracles of the Holocaust - Woohoo! I'm already up to # 5 and it's only Jan. 14, 2014. I like reading books about the Holocaust.
Can anyone recommend any other books about the Holocaust? I've read most of the well-known ones: Schindler's List, Diary of Anne Frank, Sarah's Key. For some reason I find myself very drawn to this subject. Thanks for any suggestions.
Roberta, have you read "the painted bird" by Jerzy Kozinski? My suggestion would be to get the audio version from your library if possible. The narration is in my opinion what really brings the story into life; it's slower paced but very well done and deeply moves the heart and soul.

I don't have the author in front of me and I haven't reviewed it yet, but trust me when I say, you'll definitely want a Kleenex box with you when you read it.

Have you read The Book Thief or Unbroken yet? Both are WWII era subjects and are excellent. And what about Suite Française? All 3 are favorites of mine.
I've read both. I loved all the detail in Unbroken but I know some people didn't. I started Suite Francaise but couldn'tget into it.
I have set my goal of 50 and have already completed one good Dan Brown novel, Angel & Demons. I think I'll get into book two of this set.

7. Monster in a Box by Ruth Rendell8. The Hippopotamus Pool by Elizabeth Peters, narrated by Barbara Rosenblat. This narrator really makes these books for me. I started listening to another in this series with a different narrator. I couldn't finish it. I had to have the Rosenblat version.
9. Argo by Antonio Mendez and Mark B. (forget last name) audio It's the book the Argo movie was based on. I liked it.
