"Isbaelle, lets get her to the cornucopia. I carry her, you defend."
"No!! We can't go back in there! We're out!!"
"There's food. In the morning, we can leave. But, you'll starve us all, if not."
"How would I be the one starving us all? If we don't leave now, they'll fix the force field and we will be stuck again, but this time, without a plan or the tubes."
"And we will all starve. Bad plan. We can wedge something in field, but we NEED food, or we'll all die."
"I'm not mad, just, its the only way we can survive and be able to hold our ground tommorow."
"Whatever, lets go find our precious food."
Bayan hid a small smile. They would make it for aother day.When they had eaten, Kat had crashed fast, and Bayan faced Isabelle.
"Guess so. She ain't dead, so, yeah. You feeling all right yourself over there, Isabelle?"
Bayan sighed and looked away."Then you know what I saw? Why I couldn't look you in the eyes, why I had to be by myself to convince me that, it's all the capitol."
"Yeah, I do. Why would they do that?" She started crying.
"Do I need to answer that?"Bayan couldn't stand this, the cruelty of the capitol to the ones he loved.
"No." She looked up at him but saw his eyes and looked back down. She couldn't look at them without thinking of the mutts anymore.
Bayan leaned against her."The capitol cant take away you, though."
"At least, not as long as I'm alive."
It was freezing, and bayan scooted a bit closer to her. He couldve stayed there forever,
Isabelle smiled again and leaned her head against him. "What are we going to do?"
"Nope, I think not dying is good enough for me right now!"
"I could do with that, you not dying."
"But, isabelle, never, ever, EVER, dont die for me."
"I promise, as long as you promise not to either."
"Cant promise that. I'd do a lot for you, in fact, just about everything for you."
"Really? Just try not to die then. You don't have to promise, but promise that you'll try, okay?"
Isabelle smiled. "I don't hear a promise!"
"Maybe not. I'd do everything for you, except let you ever die in my place. Never, Isabelle."
"Well, thank you. But I want you to promise to at least try not to die for me?"
"of course. what did you think? I have no family."
Isabelle smiled, then thought about what he said. "You don't?"
Isabelle saw him turn away, so she she moved around the other side of him. "We'll, that's okay. My parents died and I've been having to take care of both my little sisters for 2 or 3 years in the forest."
"Good job. Must be hard." He kissed her cheek lightly and sat up.
"Lets get to work"
"Shut up. Now, the desert is the fastest way out. lets go"
"Quiet Kat, thank you you Bayan, and we never got our food."
"Yeah we did."((we did, had a time skip))
