Lauren Also the explanation why they were in Chicago was good, it was pretty vague, but it had a reason that was understandable, I was really happy about that.

The explanation made no sense and doesn't fit into the story/world laid out in the first two books at all.

I really hated that she didn't talk with David any time longer because at the time she decided to go for it she was not even halfway thorough everything she could confront David with! I feel like she should have waited longer so that she maybe had a bigger survival chance. But I guess that's just the image I made up in my head.

No, that's you using logic and reason. That is absolutely what a rational person would have done in that scenario - it's also what Tris would have normally done. The entire ending - the scene itself and the plotline that led to the scene - relies on all the characters being a lot stupider than they actually are.

I didn't hate the ending like a lot of people did, I didn't love it though. I have mixed feelings on the ending I guess.

Lizzy I also liked the ending. I don't really understand why people are so upset about it. It didn't end the way you hoped? Get over it. It was Roth's story to write, she wrote it as she saw fit.

gina I liked the ending how it made me cry I thought it was a good wrap up its just I thought of four and tris to be together like happily ever after but veronica didn't want that i guess i wasn't a huge fan of the ending but its ok.

Sarah Younan i feel like the more i read this blog..
http://veronicarothbooks.blogspot.com...
the more understanding i get about the ending. i think veronica roth in fact DID give tris that mind blowing ending that she deserved.

im probably gonna get slammed for this lol

now i do hate that she HAD to die. all the tears and feels and sadness for fours lonely life. i wish she didnt leave us (as being on of the greatest characters in history). but roth explaining the meaning of her journey and it coming to an end when she finally becomes an adult makes sense.
and common she almost dies like..10 times, she was gonna die eventually, shes not bionic.
even though its pretty clear that Caleb should have died (if not redeemed himself) tris loves her brother, and she proved it.
true sacrifice and selflessness IS done out of love

Shahd I thought the ending was actually beautiful and fitting. In my opinion the bravest and strongest of all are those who sacrifice. It wasn't a surprising action for Tris to take, actually we should've seen it coming because of our knowledge of her character. She has truly shown her bravery and proved herself a hero.

I second that

In concept, yes, I agree wholeheartedly. In the actual execution, well, that's a whole other matter and the entire problem.

Samantha As much as I was crying, I respect what Veronica Roth did and love the ending.
