All caught up now - Mother feeling smug and happy that her 'prediction' was true (I'll believe it when I actually see it)

This series wasn't my all time favourite by far but I did really enjoy it.

I've not watched any programmes yet this year, just things that Gareth puts on while we eat dinner.

Since I've been revising and had many days of just doing nothing BUT revising, I've been using TV as my 'study breaks' and 'rewards' at the end of a busy day

I think I watch too much TV. I definitely tape too much TV for the time I have to watch it!!

My TV watching will definitely dwindle a lot when I get back to University!

Gareth is away this weekend so I'll get to catch up on Dracula, don't think I have any other shows taping just now but Grimm starts again soon :o)

I've just downloaded the 1st episode of bones,sky have put every episode on their on demand facility.Have you read the books that they are based on Elle?

Ooh, hope you enjoy Lorraine, I did, and have 2 and 3 on DVD. I've read some of the Kathy Reichs books, I enjoy her

I've read the first 2 books,i normally stay away from tv programmes if i've read the books.

I have Lorraine - I really enjoy them but the book before the latest release really disappointed me so I haven't caught up with the brand new one yet.

The books and TV are so different! They are legitimately two completely different things.

Glad you think they are different Elle, I agree but couldn't think of a way to word it

I mean, really only her job and her name is the same. Not one other detail in any of the books relates to the TV show!! COMPLETELY different personalities!

That's good then,i don't want to spend an hour shouting at the telly because they've messed it up.I'm going to watch the first episode shortly,just waiting for hubby to go to bed.

Watching the old episodes now make me laugh! It looks so *old* compared to the shiny bright new ones.

I know what you mean elle,it's the same when i watch criminal minds,greys anatomy and csi.

I noticed that with Castle, she looks more polished than previous seasons (I'm at least a season behind you)

I love the Kathy reichs books but I've never really watched bones. I always meant to, always think that it'll be all glammed up for tv and not really very realistic from the science point of view (like most crime drama csi stuff) my mum was a forensic scientist so she used to point out all the flaws in the programmes which kinda ruined them for me for good cause I never believe them enough to get into them and look for errors myself.

Kathy reichs books are spot on though (maybe not from the police side but certainly when it comes to the bones), I've said this before but I love reading them now I know all the technical language. So I wonder if bones would be the same.

I watched the first episode and it was pretty good,there's about 200 episodes on demand and they are going to be deleted in april,so i've got to pull my finger out and get them watched.I know what you mean about castle,kate's got skinnier and skinnier and the heels on her boots have got higher and higher and we're expected to believe that she runs in them.

Glad you enjoyed it, good look with watching 200 episodes!! It's not her weight and boots I noticed most about Kate, it was her hair!!! All policewomen on TV wear high heels, and its soo not practical for the job.

I find the language in Bones to at least sound a lot more realistic (and very similar to the books) than other shows!

Movie: Inside Llewyn Davis

A solid 6/10 stars on IMDB. A good sound track but not very memorable plotwise. Good performances all around - Oscar Issac was sensational but more so his singing which added to his entire performance than the strength of his acting/lines.

Documentary (movie): Teenage


A solid 8/10 star documentary on how the idea of being a teenager started. Combined some really amazing archive footage with some modern day shot period pieces with narration of true life stories. Really interesting method of telling the story and it really really worked!

It's not that they are bad books but I keep picking these quirky humour books and I am *clearly* not in the mood for humour!!
