Eli hobbled along with her trying to walk in a strait line, "aw, all our new friends... see you guys around the academy" he said trying to give them a final grin before walking out with Eira
((Wow...looks like I've missed a lot! Haha!)) During the entire conversation between all the kids... kids like her... Annie remained silent. She didn't mind listening, it kept her mind busy and didn't leave room to wander and accidentally shatter a nearby window. She nodded her head or smiled to show that she was still listening. Annie wasn't much of a talker around new people, she didn't trust easily. Once they began to leave she realized that she had been fiddling with her pendent again. She let it fall against her chest and rose to her feet. She followed her new companions to the door but went the opposite way once they exited the building. "See you guys later," She called so they wouldn't think she was antisocial or mean or something. She added a small wave and smile before walking away.
((Oo Annie and Eira should be close friends, since they have the same personality))
Willa also watched the preceding conversations in silence, she was okay with being in the background most of the time anyway. Anna seemed like a nice person, but Savanna was kind of intimidating. The assertive, well dressed fifties-retro woman, did not seem to get along with Eira well, maybe it was because they knew each other from a previous year since they have both been here for more than today. Willa rolled her eyes remembering she knew nothing about this place and had much to learn about people, elementals, and life really. When they all got up to leave she was relieved that Eli was going to get what he needed, he was looking ill despite his exuberant attitude. She hoped he would be alright. What must it be like to get sick without nature she could not imagine. She glanced around and noted the few potted plants in the room, a few by the register and another large potted tree in the corner, they even had a potted vine growing up around the doorway, someone had pinned the runners down with tacks. There was also a lot of sun spilling in from the front window lighting up her tabletop and making her feel better.
Now that everyone was gone she could relax, finish her book, and go in search of the library. Moments later she closed her book and lifted herself from the table, done with exploring the town maybe there would be more kids back at school.
Everyone was scattering by now, so Savannah bid everyone a goodbye and stood up. She grabbed the cup that Eira had left, and tossed it into the garbage. She brushed her pants off, even though there was nothing on them. She'd picked up that habit from the many years she'd spent in Germany- there were a lot of people in certain places, and most of them were drunk- they dropped and spilled things.
Savannah pushed the café door open, and started back up the dirt road to the school, where she'd end up in the library.
Matt entered the cafe, and looked around. He nodded approvingly. It was a cozy place, not too big, not too small. He got a cup of coffee and went over to a corner. He sat, waiting for Aidan. He'd texted Aidan earlier and told him to meet Matt here.
Aidan walks into the cafe looking around and quickly spotting Matt. He wondered why he'd chose to sit in the far corner. "Hey Matt." Aidan greets with a small grin sitting on the other side of the table, "What's up?"
((This is a different day))
Matt sits into a seat in the back of the cafe. He plops down a cup of coffee, and brings out a sketchbook. He continues sketching a dragon he'd started the other day. Taking care in the shading, he creates a small masterpiece. A dragon high on a mountain, searching the village below with a steely eye.

Alex wanders into the café. "So much for free time. I'm lost again." She grumbles as she slides into a corner booth, and orders a sweet tea. "I hate this place."
Matt looks up at the voice, and notices a girl. *Hm.* He thinks. *She's got beautiful eyes...* He flips over a page and starts to quickly sketch her face. He accurately portrays her face's shape, hair, and facial features in several delicate strokes. He squints as he looks at her again, trying to match everything about her onto paper.
She sighs and pulls her tiny notebook out from her bag. She looks up, and sees someone looking at her. She makes a face. "Uhh.... Can I help you?" She asks hesitantly.
Matt blushes, realizing he's been caught. "Uh, sorry." He lifts his sketchbook. "I'm an artist..." He walks over, and shows her the picture of herself. "I couldn't help but notice your eyes. You're very beautiful." He blushes again when he realizes what he's said. "Ah, I mean, you know, from an artist's point of view, you've got a really... Er, artistic face..." He stops, slapping himself in the face. "Kinda screwed up first impressions, didn't I?"
Alex laughs. "Little bit." *This guy's kind of odd...* "What's your name? I mean, if someone's going to draw me, I might as well know who you are." She sips her tea, as if he didn't bother her at all.
Matt offers her his hand. "I'm Matthew. Williams. But you can call me Matt." He notices the twitch in her eyes as she sips her tea. *She's got a history. Likely a sad one with a personality such as that.*
She puts her cup on the table. Hesitantly, she shakes his hand. "Alexandria Juliett. Or Alex, preferred." She replies, eyeing him. "What are you thinking about?" She asks, noticing him eyeing her.
"Everything and nothing all at once and never again." He says with a mischievous smile. "Sorry if I seem a bit starish. Artist's eyes." Matt says with a gentle smile. "My mom always told me I seemed as if I wanted to see everything and never forget it."
She raises an eyebrow. "You seem to make things quite complicated... Might as well sit down." She motions to the other side of her booth. "I take it you're a student too?" She sets her notebook on the corner of the table.
"Of Baldiver?" Matt says as he sits. He opens his sketch book and flips through the pages to find the one of Alex. "Yeah. Can't say that I actually go there, though. I haven't attended class since I got here." He starts drawing again, and glances up at her every few seconds. "I've heard you can't get kicked out of Baldiver, so might as well take advantage of it."
Alex smirks a little. "Really now? That changes everything!" A small ferret head pops out of her bag. "Get back in there!" Alex hisses at it. "We'll go to the gardens later!" The ferret, satisfied, disappears.
"A ferret, eh?" Matt smiles. "Fantastic creatures." He sticks his tongue out of the corner of his mouth as he concentrates his pencil strokes. When he finishes, he turns it around for Alex to see. "What do you think?" The picture is unmistakably Alex, her eyes glittering with reflections of the stars. He hair wisps in the wind, and ever so slight smile shows hidden pain. Matt looks between Alex and the picture, trying to see any flaws.
Her eyes widen "I-- I'm speechless... How did you..." Her eyes sweep over the page. Shadow leaps out of the bag, followed by Light. "I just told you to stay in there!" Alex groans. The black ferret, with his smug little look, curiously looks around. The white shyly follows.
Matt smiles, seeing she likes it. He turns it around, and tears the page from the book. He signs the corner with his artist's insignia, then pushes it to her. "Here." He says with a smile and wink.
She takes the page, and slides it into her bag. "Thanks. Shadow, leave him alone!" The sly ferret had made his way up to Matt and was now investigating his art supplies.
Matt laughs. "It's alright." He pulls out a pencil, and gives it to Shadow to play with. "He's a curious creature, aye?" He looks at the white ferret. "And he the cautious one?" Matt tries to coax the white ferret closer.
Shadow steals the pencil and runs off with it. Light eyes Matt, before running up his arm to rest around his neck. Alex looks at them, amazed. "Light likes you!" She grins. "That's rare."
Matt chuckles. "That's rare for me too," he says as he strokes Light's fur. "The only other animal I know who liked me was my dog, Blitz. He was a German Shepherd."
Alex leans on the table. "I got these when they were little. Brother and sister. Shadow is quite rebellious. I promised them I'd go to the gardens today, but I haven't got there yet." A waitress comes out with the bill for Alex's tea.
"Ah." Said Matt. "I was planning to head over there myself after I was done with my..." He looks back to the table he'd come from. "Coffee..." He chuckles. "Perhaps I could accompany you?"
She smiles as she pulls out her small wallet. "If you like. Shadow, we're getting ready to leave. Give the pencil back." Shadow returns the pencil, and runs to settle on Alex's neck. She laughs and scratches his head. "Good boy."
Matthias smiles, and hurries over to his own table. In three quick gulps, he downs his cold coffee. He leaves a couple dollars on the table, then turns towards Alex. He walks over while shoving his sketchbook and art supplies into his pack. "Alright." Whenever you're ready."
Alex pays for her tea. "Are you okay with Light on your neck?" She laughs, shouldering her bag. She forgets about her little notebook, where she keeps all of her music. Without thinking about it, she walks out the door of the cafe.
Matt notices the book, and grabs it off the table as he hurries after her. Light bounces up and down with his long strides, and Matt soon catches up. "You forgot, something, Alex." Matt says with a wink, handing over the book.
"Oh! I'm sorry!" She takes the book. "Thanks." She blushes as she puts the book in her bag. "Lets get going then."
Alex puts her guitar in the back as she pulls up her hair and ties an apron around her waist. She smiles, puts a pen in her pocket, and starts her work. She just started this job when she arrived here, and she actually likes it.
Matt walks in, limping a bit less than the day before. He sits in a his usual corner booth, and brings out his sketchbook. He doesn't notice anyone around him, as he's deep in thought. He continues on his latest drawing, a landscape drawing with a heart coming over the hills instead of the sun. The heart has slight cracks along the edges, but it still shines bright and casts away darkness.
Alex walks out in her apron. Realizing who it is, she smiles "Hey, can I getcha anything?"
Matt startles and slams the book shut. He looks up, and blushes. "Uh. Sure... Just a plain coffee." He bites his lip, wondering if she'd seen his art. Then a thought struck him. "Wait, what? You work here?"
Alex laughs, seeming cheery. "Yeah, I do. Be right back." She runs off and returns with a mug, and a coffee pot. She fills up other costumers cups, then returns to Matt. She sets the mug on the table, and fills it up. "You didn't know?"
"I do know." He says with his lopsided grin. He picks up the mugs and takes a sip. "How long have you been working here?"
((no after school, feel free to join))
Alex laughs. She loves her job. "Since I got here." She looks around. "Whoop, got to go. I'll be back in a bit with your bill."

Roni enters the cafe- she'd really wanted to see Alex working. Mostly so she could boss her around and secondly because she was a bit worried about her after the fight she'd gotten into the previous day. She'd never seen her so angry. She sighs to herself- she wishes she could do more to help her. She looks around the restaurant seeing Matt and smirks, ah one of her boyfriends, figures.
Alex hears the doorbell. "Hi welcome to-- V! How ya doin?" She smiles. She turns, hands someone thier bill, and turns back to V. "Sit, sit! What can I getcha?"

Eurasia took his hand gingerly and helped him up. "Thank you for the chat, we will see you all around school sometime." She said waving goodbye to the group. She opened the door and crisp air blew her hair away from her face.
