ArcaneSage 117 (arcansage117) Eli didn't really get why everyone kept lowering their voices at random times but he shrugged it off and shook her hand remembering it was supposed to be a way to greet people, "yeah, we all are, ain't it great" he said not really giving the others a chance to talk

message 52: by dany (last edited Dec 29, 2013 08:28PM) (new)

dany (elothwen) Savannah raised an eyebrow. She then began sitting down at their table, adding, "I...suppose. Now, if you don't mind me asking, what element do you all have control over?"
Brushing nothing off of her pedal pushers, she glanced down at her saddle shoes, hoping no one would find this peculiar. It was normal to be obsessed with the 1940's, 1950's, and 1960's, right?

message 53: by Emily (new)

Emily Anastasia walked almost timidly into the cafe. She pulled her jacket tighter around her shoulders and scanned her surroundings. The place wasn't extremely busy, but there was still a crowd. She decided to order first before she found a place to sit. She made her way to the counter and examined the treats behind the display case. Glass... She thought warily, when the ceiling lights reflected off the case and into her eyes. She blinked and focused again.

message 54: by ArcaneSage (new)

ArcaneSage 117 (arcansage117) Eli shrugged and thought about what his mother had told him, "my mother always said that I shouldn't tell people about other people so they'll have to tell you theirs but I..." he was explaining before sensing another charm, he looked around and saw that yet another person had just walked in, he laughed then jumped out of his seat and walked over to her, "Hello"

message 55: by dany (last edited Dec 29, 2013 08:45PM) (new)

dany (elothwen) Savannah glanced at the people near her. One girl had a charm shaped like a leaf. Something to do with nature... The other's weren't as revealing as that girl's pendant, so she based it on looks.
The pretty icy haired girl with the white charm must have something to do with ice or cold, she thought.

message 56: by Emily (new)

Emily Anastasia jumped in surprise at the boy who suddenly was standing next to her. Out of instinct her hand clutched the pendent around her neck to help control her powers. After a few seconds of slowing her heart down, she smiled lightly. "Hi," She said. The worker behind the counter handed her her order of lemonade and a lemon poppy seed muffin.

message 57: by ArcaneSage (new)

ArcaneSage 117 (arcansage117) Eli grinned as she grabbed her charm, he didn't know how but he just knew, "you want to come sit with us?" he said pointing to the table, "my name's Eli by the way" he said with a grin forgetting about how sick he'd felt just before

message 58: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie "Hi my name is Willa." It was nice to meet so many people from school, not at school. There group got a few more stares from the crowd at the loud talk of the academy, but she loved the cheery outburst from Eli even if they drew attention.

message 59: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (( I didn't know the page ended at 50 and started a new one, duh. But I have to go to sleep so just ignore me I will post in the morning. You are welcome to use general acknowledgements from me in your descriptions))

dany (elothwen) ((Alright.))

Emily ArcaneSage wrote: "Eli grinned as she grabbed her charm, he didn't know how but he just knew, "you want to come sit with us?" he said pointing to the table, "my name's Eli by the way" he said with a grin forgetting a..."

"Hi, Eli" Anastasia said, backing away slowly so that her pendent was out of his reach. She glanced over her shoulder to where he must have been sitting. There were already kids there.... kids like her. She saw some of their pendents, and others just radiated power. "Uh... sure," She said uneasily. Might as well try to make friends. She thought to herself. Then she smiled for real. "I'm Anastasia,"

message 62: by ArcaneSage (new)

ArcaneSage 117 (arcansage117) Eli nodded " I'm new to the academy, but I reckon it'll be fun" he said still grinning, he'd met a bunch of new people today and even found out his cousin was here, he led the way back to the table grabbing another chair from a nearby table so she could join them

message 63: by Emily (new)

Emily "Thanks," She said sheepishly, sitting down. She wasn't all that great at mingling with kids her age. She did a better job at befriending witch doctors from foreign countries who spoke another language. She calmed the storm that had began to stir in her stomach and looked up again at Eli. "I'm new too. I just arrived a few days ago."

message 64: by dany (new)

dany (elothwen) Savannah smiled at the girl, sticking out her hand for her as well. "I'm Savannah, it's...a pleasure to meet you."
Spending her last year surrounded by people that actually wanted her around(regarding her abilities), she'd learned to use proper etiquette.
Well, that and her obsession.

message 65: by dany (new)

dany (elothwen) ((oh or not))

message 66: by ArcaneSage (new)

ArcaneSage 117 (arcansage117) Eli grinned as he saw everyone's smiles around the table, he nodded to Anastasia when she said that she was new as well and he sat down again next to his cousin then looked over at Savannah as she introduced herself in what he assumed was a proper manner

message 67: by Emily (new)

Emily Anastasia returned Savannah's smile. "Anastasia. It's nice to meet you too," She said taking her hand and shaking it firmly. "Most people just call me Anna or Annie though," She said, doing what she thought was 'opening up'. Anastasia appreciated Savannah's manners. Because she had been all over the world, Annie knew how nice and how rude people could be. It was also nice not to be greeted by crazy hand gestures.

message 68: by dany (new)

dany (elothwen) Crossing her legs and looking at her, she added in a very quiet voice, "If you don't mind me asking...what can you...do?"
Though many people(mainly an Elemental's family) knew of the abilities one could posses, she wouldn't risk spilling all of those secrets.

message 69: by Emily (new)

Emily Again, in a panic, Annie's hand automatically clutched the silver locket hanging around her neck. She then realized what she had done and felt her cheeks turn pink. "No, not at all," She said, shifting in her seat. "I have vitreokinesis. I can control, create, and manipulate glass. What about you?" She said, giving Savannah a head nod.

message 70: by dany (new)

dany (elothwen) "Intriguing. I'd like to know more later," Savannah said, referring to her power.
"I, quite amazingly, might I add, have electrokinesis. It's rather hard to explain fully, but the basics are controlling and generating electricity."

message 71: by Emily (new)

Emily Annie noticed Savannah's formal way of speaking and wondered if she always spoke like that or was taught to. She pushed the thought out of her head though and continued the conversation, "Wow, that's really cool," She said nicely. To her it wasn't that hard to explain, just like her powers weren't, but she didn't say that out loud. She then turned to Eli. "What powers to do you have, Eli?"

message 72: by dany (new)

dany (elothwen) Savannah simply glanced back at her, then back around the room. People milling about, chatting about the latest movies, teen girls drinking lattés and texting.
She sighed, feeling nostalgia. Even though she hadn't been there, she sometimes 'missed it'.

message 73: by Emily (new)

Emily ((Well, I'm off to bed. Talk to you later! Night))

message 74: by ArcaneSage (new)

ArcaneSage 117 (arcansage117) Eli grinned enjoying their conversation, though to be honest he was starting to feel queasy again, he'd been away from nature for too long now, "I think I remember it being called Naturakinesis, I don't know what that means but I can play with nature, I can't create stuff like you guys" he said realizing he was the only one of the five that couldn't, "but I can control all that stuff you find in a forest" he laughed remembering all the fun he had learning his powers

message 75: by [deleted user] (new)

((Could we have an order of posting?))

message 76: by dany (new)

dany (elothwen) ((Nah, it'd be too confusing if people were having side conversations.))

message 77: by [deleted user] (new)

Eira stayed silent during the conversation, and thankfully no one noticed. None of these people had met before- and Eli goes around talking to everyone! What of someone took advantage of his kindness- naiveness? He could get hurt, Eira couldn't let that happen. But one look at his face made her calm down and not say anything to ruin the 'moment'.

message 78: by [deleted user] (new)

((?))

message 79: by dany (new)

dany (elothwen) Savannah turned to the girl that had icy looking hair.
"Hello, I'm Savannah. You must be from Baldiver as well, so, I hope you don't mind that I ask your ability." She stuck out her hand as well. If you didn't give people a proper first impression(and greeting), it would be awkward later on.

message 80: by [deleted user] (last edited Dec 31, 2013 02:43PM) (new)

"Not a problem." She said with a convincing fake smile. She pushed her coffee gingerly to the center if the table. She rose out of her chair a bit and hovered her hand over the cold hot chocolate. Then sharply pointed her index finger to where it hung barely a centimeter over the drink. When she removed her hand, the group, if they looked, could see ice cristals elegantly moing through the serface of the drink in intricate patterns. In a matter of seconds the drink was a cylinder of off white ice.

Then Eira turned her finger in a circle over the cup and snow produced. As the snow moved down onto the ice, Eira moved a finger again, the result was the snow forming together in three balls. Large, medium and small piled one on top of the other. She had frozen the drink into pure ice- and made a small snow man to rest on the frozen surface.

message 81: by dany (last edited Dec 31, 2013 03:40PM) (new)

dany (elothwen) Savannah stared blankly. Ice. She'd seen it before, but usually for lame reasons. The little snowman was unique, and not completely stupid like she'd seen before- no showing off like before either. No, snow storms in the middle of August weren't weird at all!
"Well, if we're demonstrating, I'll show you mine. This could be quite dangerous, but I promise I won't use too many watts."
Before Eira could argue, she rested a hand on her shoulder, sending a small shock, just enough to make her jump a bit.
"And that's the start of the complex line of electrokinesis."

message 82: by [deleted user] (new)

Eira bit back a yelp. See, this is why she didn't trust people. She let her guard down and she ets shocked. But Eira isn't typically one to hold a grudge, and it was a minuscule shock. Eira forced a smile again, and found that it came a bit more naturally. "Is that all you can do?"

message 83: by dany (new)

dany (elothwen) Savannah shook her head. "No. Like I told Anastasia, it's a bit complicated, really. Electrokinesis is the psychic power to manipulate energies, electrical currents, and generate electricity with the mind. I am able to absorb, conduct, generate and manipulate a form of energy resulting from the existence of charged particles, which gives me the control over electric fields, electric charges, electric currents, electronics, and electromagnetism. Eventually, I'll be able to diverse various electrical-based attacks, ranging from simple to complex attacks. Simple effects may include the ability to generate electricity, shoot lightning, or overload a circuit. The ability will someday evolve into manipulating energy in a person, convert my own body into an entity of electrons, directing current in a more complex route than the one of least resistance, firing sparks, turning off electrical devices, or electrical constructs. I'll also learn to do things ranging from direct electrocution and high energy output, to more complex abilities such as hacking, and electromagnetism generation and constructs, and I'll be able to control electrons in a variety of the effects that often yield positive results, making electrokinesis one of the most powerful and versatile element. Another more advanced level of this power is to create and manipulate energies into solid waves or blasts, and thus travel through electrical appliances or outlets. This power can even be used to take control of the electrons in objects, allowing motion control. Over many years, I'll advance in this, and be able to generate force-fields and develop technopathy, as well as manipulate any energy."

message 84: by [deleted user] (new)

"Wow.... Sounds like a gift that can keep in giving..." Was all Eira could say. She wasn't going to give anything else away about her powers, for now. At least untill Savannah (or the others) proven themselves trust worthy.

message 85: by dany (new)

dany (elothwen) Savannah nodded. "Yes, I suppose. But I still have a lot of learning to do. I'm sure you think that explaining anything as fully as that will give someone an advantage over me, but that is highly illogical."

message 86: by [deleted user] (last edited Jan 01, 2014 11:40AM) (new)

"Can you read minds too?" Asked Eira with a slightly snide tone. Obviously she couldn't, but it was true that it would give her an advantage over Savannah. Eira now knew more about her powers than Savannah knew about hers. Not that it truly mattered though, they should all be on the same side.

message 87: by dany (new)

dany (elothwen) Savannah glared at her. "No. Only with technology," she replied, then adding, "and I don't mind if you don't want to share your abilities. I've been here longer than you, and I've seen a lot. Cryokinesis isn't very complex to understand. The user begins with the simple control over cold. It gradually advances into ice, where the user can then create ice and snow. After a while, they can create snow storms and hail."

message 88: by [deleted user] (new)

Eira smiled, semi-fake and semi-real. She was impressed. "Is that all I will be able to do?" She asked raising a brown and lightly tapping her white painted fingernails on the table.

message 89: by ArcaneSage (new)

ArcaneSage 117 (arcansage117) Eli grinned as he was listening to their conversation, he knew Eira could do much more then that, after all ice and frost came from water and that was everywhere, but he decided not to get too involved with that side "you can make snowmen, that's pretty awesome" he said with a smile

message 90: by [deleted user] (last edited Jan 01, 2014 12:12PM) (new)

She grinned at Eli with a genuine smile. "Thanks Eli, your power is pretty awesome to." Eira said as she moved her hair to her opposite shoulder and smoothed it down.

message 91: by dany (new)

dany (elothwen) Savannah shook her head. "No. One of the nurses, Ms. Kostori, is Cryokinetic. She's been fully trained for years. It can be defined as using Psychokinesis to manipulate the molecular speed of an object. Slowing of the molecules produces cold, as cold can be defined as a lack of energy. By doing this users can reducing the kinetic energy of atoms and thus making things colder, for various effects and combinations." she then dropped her voice to a whisper, as she doubted Eira wanted the others to know.
"It's very complicated as well. I'll try my best to explain it fully. In order of learning, here it is: Right now, you are able to freeze items by touch. These items will drop in temperature and form a layer of frost. How quickly the item freezes depends on the item. You are also resistant to cold. You are comfortable when others would be shivering with cold. You don't suffer from hypothermia, either. The cryokinetic can handle cold objects much more effectively than others, and the cryokinetic doesn't need to worry about his tongue sticking to a flagpole," she chuckled a bit, exhaling, "Eventually, the cryokinetic is able to create a small ice-cube sized chunk of ice from their moisture in the air, if there is any, in the palm of their hand. The cryokinetic can control the formation of all natural ice within his reach. In this sense, control means the cryokinetic can contain it or guide its direction. The cryokinetic can use moisture in the air, again, if there is any, to create a chunk of ice up to the size of a baseball in their palm. A cryokinetic can draw any existing moisture from the air and cause a ring of ice to surround them on the ground up to 5 feet away. Someday, you'll be able to control the formation of all natural ice that he can see within a 15 feet radius. In this sense, control means the cryokinetic can contain it or guide its direction. The cryokinetic can focus their own cold and concentrate the cold of another to cause their temperature to fall. The subject won’t experience hypothermia or frost bite, but they will be exhausted from suffering bone-chilling cold. That is a bit tricky to learn, I've heard. In either case, it would take a few moments of skin to skin contact. The affect is not instantaneous. The cryokinetic can also handle cold objects much more effectively than others, even items that would cause blistering cold burns to others can be handled safely by a cryokinetic. Advanced frozen items form a layer of frost and, depending on the material, may become brittle enough to shatter. How quickly the item freezes depends on the item. The cryokinetic can come into direct contact with super cold, like liquid nitrogen, for as much as a few minutes and still suffer no damage at all. Probably the least known ability to most cryokinetics is the ability literally in case there body in a solid coating of ice. This is a mixed blessing. While the shield of ice can be somewhat effective as a shield… it almost completely denies movement. The cryokinetic develops a connection with ice on a somewhat atomic level and can increase the strength of ice created around his own hand to the point that it is almost like wearing a metal gauntlet or glove. Since moisture is so critical to the powers of a cryokinetic, the cryokinetic becomes highly attuned to it. You will be able to sense the existence of water of at least enough quantity to fill a bathtub within 100 yards of you whether or not you can see it. A cryokinetic can draw existing moisture from the air to cause a wall of snow up to the height of the cryokinetic to surround them up to 5 feet away. This wall is made of packed snow about 6 inches thick. The cryokinetic is able to cause a quick flash freeze for the sole purpose of consuming the moisture in the air in a particular area, thus preventing another cryokinetic of equal or less power from using it. A cryokinetic can intensify his own sense of cold to the point that it can cause every freezable object within 5 feet of him to freeze solid. Remember, this isn't an instant ability. It would take time for the cold to spread. Items closer to the cryokinetic would freeze first and the affect would radiate outwards. A cryokinetic can cause a wall of snow the height of the cryokinetic to surround them up to 5 feet away. This wall is about 6 inches thick of packed snow that has been packed so tightly to be almost a wall of solid ice. A cryokinetic can intensify their own sense of cold to the point that it can cause every freezable object within 15 feet of them to freeze solid. Again, it would take time for the cold to spread. Items closer to the cryokinetic would freeze first and the affect would radiate outwards. The cryokinetic can focus their own cold and concentrate the cold of another to cause their temperature to drop. The cryokinetic can initiate this affect almost instantly, causing the target hypothermia or frost bite, exhausting their energy almost instantly. You can intensify the cold in your body to the point that your touch shatters metal! Your very touch may freeze a beating heart… or un-life in a body that doesn't have one." She inhaled, then exhaling deeply.
Her voice returned to normal, "But that will all take a while to learn."

((THIS TOOK ME FOREVER))

dany (elothwen) ((It actually doesn't come from water))

message 93: by [deleted user] (new)

Eira clapped lightly. "I'm impressed. So where have you learned all this information about others powers?" She asked Savannah.

message 94: by dany (new)

dany (elothwen) "You learn it in History of Elementals. But it's not that I don't do my own research," Savannah added, laughing slightly.
"Most people don't take that class, but it's really useful."

message 95: by ArcaneSage (new)

ArcaneSage 117 (arcansage117) Eli smiled back at her, he knew he could do a lot with his powers but it didn't help him at all in a place like this, being away from nature just made him queasy, "I think I'm in that one..." he said sinking to the table feeling rather weak "I miss nature" he complained

message 96: by [deleted user] (new)

"I think I might be as well." Then she turned to Eil, "want to go to the river then?" She asked with a smile.

message 97: by ArcaneSage (new)

ArcaneSage 117 (arcansage117) Eli looked up and rested his chin on the table still feeling, he'd been holding back his nausea for too long and now it kinda just hit him, "yeah..." he managed to say while thinking there had to be a bush or something by a river

message 98: by dany (new)

dany (elothwen) ((We have a river? Should I make one?))

message 99: by ArcaneSage (new)
