These are some ideas for classes and occupations in the world.
Scribe: The scribe is the scholar of this ancient world, as well as the secretary. The scribe was responsible for writing down anything that really, truly needed remembering. From items such as tombs to religious texts to any speech the Pharaoh said.
Temple Priest/Priestess: The members of the multitude of temples vary widely. Some are genuine, and others corrupt. All are highly respected in society and allowed places others would normally not be able to go.
Palace slave: The palace slaves are the favoured, smartest, and most beautiful of the slaves, male and female. They have the loosest reigns and often are allowed to wander the cities and have almost normal lives. They are also allowed to get married and are even sometimes allowed to leave service. The palace slaves are also one of the most informed people in the empire.
Traders: Traders spend their days in the bazaars and going up and down the Nile, carting their wares, be it spices, valuables, or drink. They are all sorts of different people, no two being the same.
Magicians: The magicians are an elusive people, mostly employed by the temples, but a few are enlisted by the pharaoh. Like most people, the magicians have good factions, and bad ones. They also follow a dangerous path of life, for if they try to over tax the god who's power they are harnessing, they could burn up. Some magicians are kind and will even use their services to help the commoners. *Note* When casting spells, it uses one's own energy unless hosting a god and tapping theirs. If a spell is to powerful, the magician casting it will burn up and die as a result.
Sao: A charm maker. These are magicians who prefer using charms and amulets when using magic. The good thing about charms and amulets is that almost any spell can imbeaued into an amulet/charm and it costs no energy to activate one.
Other classes: Thieves Commoners Bards Farmers Artisans Tomb Guardians Etc.
