Things change for Junior when he seeks out Gordy, the smartest person in the class. Did he need to have courage to do this? Why is reaching out to others difficult? Have you ever reached out to make contact with someone like that? Have you ever wanted to reach out, but were too embarrassed or frightened to do so? What difference did (can) it make?

Things change for Junior when he seeks out Gordy, the smartest person in the class. Did he need to have courage to do this? - Truth be told, you need courage to do a lot of things, especially walk up to a complete stranger and try and be friends.

Why is reaching out to others difficult? - You never know what the other person will do, you don't know how that person would react to what you say or do.

Have you ever reached out to make contact with someone like that? - A couple times, its sometimes easier to be the one to break the ice than to sit in uncomfortable silence.

Have you ever wanted to reach out, but were too embarrassed or frightened to do so? - Every day.

What difference did (can) it make? - Depends on the person you try and reach out to.
