Hearne, Kevin - Hounded - (The Iron Druid Chronicles #1) January 5th 2013: re read starts Aug 12, 2019

That good huh? That seems promising! :D

I remember that I loved Oberon, of course, but I don't remember much else. There was a lot going on at the time :).
I have so many books to read, what's a few more?

One of those exhibits came to MOSI (Tampa's Museum Of Science and Industry) and I thought it would be cool, but ended up being creeped out. I was overcome with a sense of sadness.
They are pretty creepy!
I'll also look at starting this series (probably next year) assuming I can get it from the library :)

I read Hounded about a month ago and loved it. I was a little wary of it because I knew it was similar to the Dresden Files and I had just read Storm Front and wasn't really impressed by it. Something about the humor in Hounded just clicked for me, I liked the characters and I'm a bit of a sucker for anything that pulls from any kind of mythology.

I read Hounded about a m..."
Yes, the mythology is heavy in this series and I find myself looking things up constantly. I'm used to Greek and Roman mythology but not a whole heck of a lot else. I wasn't able to get into the Dresden Files when I tried it 4 or more years ago. I may have to give it a go again, but I love this one. Atticus is fun and his vamp friend Leaf is fun. I can just picture him in my head. You can tell at times it's written by a guy, but I totally get his humor. Waiting for my copy of Tricked to come and then I'll be off reading again.

Shall we plan this one for January 5th?

If you think the stories would be too confusing to do that, which would you recommend I start with - The Dresden series or the Druid series? Decisions, decisions...

Book Synopsis
Atticus O’Sullivan, last of the Druids, lives peacefully in Arizona, running an occult bookshop and shape-shifting in his spare time to hunt with his Irish wolfhound. His neighbors and customers think that this handsome, tattooed Irish dude is about twenty-one years old - when in actuality, he’s twenty-one centuries old. Not to mention: He draws his power from the earth, possesses a sharp wit, and wields an even sharper magical sword known as Fragarach, the Answerer.
Unfortunately, a very angry Celtic god wants that sword, and he’s hounded Atticus for centuries. Now the determined deity has tracked him down, and Atticus will need all his power - plus the help of a seductive goddess of death, his vampire and werewolf team of attorneys, a sexy bartender possessed by a Hindu witch, and some good old-fashioned luck of the Irish - to kick some Celtic arse and deliver himself from evil
