Author Of Other Name

Another author on Goodreads suggested to ask this question here. Actually there are two. Situation: I write under my own name, Lee Jackson. There is another author by the same name. My first book comes out on 10 December. When I attempted to establish a Goodreads author page, I was taken to the other author's page (he is in London). I have an ISBN, LCN, and LLC will publish through that company. 1) Do I have to wait until the book is published to establish a Goodreads author page; 2) How do I associate my profit and book with my own author page, and disassociate from the other? Thanks.

Hi, you can solve your problem by typing Lee^^Jackson as your name, allowing for two spaces between your first and last name. GR will acknowledge you as another author with the same name, if there's a second author with your name already, just add another space.

Just FYI, because you are one of several authors named Stephanie Williams you are Stephanie-5space-Williams. The extra spaces between your first and last names only shows up on book edit pages and your profile edit page (once you have successfully claimed it), but it tells the system which books are yours. When adding a book manually, be sure to include the extra spaces, and the book will go where it belongs. If you forget, post a new thread in this group and any librarian can fix it for you.
