Patrick (patrick_castro) Our monthly read for November is: Allegiant by Veronica Roth I know I'm excited for it a lot! I'm dying to see how it's all going to be ended!

description

Goodreads Summary: The faction-based society that Tris Prior once believed in is shattered—fractured by violence and power struggles and scarred by loss and betrayal. So when offered a chance to explore the world past the limits she’s known, Tris is ready. Perhaps beyond the fence, she and Tobias will find a simple new life together, free from complicated lies, tangled loyalties, and painful memories.

But Tris’s new reality is even more alarming than the one she left behind. Old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningless. Explosive new truths change the hearts of those she loves. And once again, Tris must battle to comprehend the complexities of human nature—and of herself—while facing impossible choices about courage, allegiance, sacrifice, and love.

Told from a riveting dual perspective, Allegiant, by #1 New York Times best-selling author Veronica Roth, brings the Divergent series to a powerful conclusion while revealing the secrets of the dystopian world that has captivated millions of readers in Divergent and Insurgent.

How dd you feel reading Allegiant? Was it better than the first 2? Did Veronica Roth give us an explosive ending? Tell Us!

Paige (thewordshakermockingjay) I'm about half way through, and I'm kinda disappointed. I've heared that the ending is awful though.... (No spoilers please!) I don't really like the split POV between tris and Four. Divergent is still my favorite in the series

I loved the second book, Insurgent a lot! It is my favorite out of all the series and I did think the alternate POV wasn't something I was liking. But over all, I loved it still!

Jenny (juliababyjen) I gave Allegiant 4 stars. It didn't live up to my expectations, but I did enjoy the read up to the ending. Here's my review:

There are spoilers, FYI

Paige (thewordshakermockingjay) I finished it.. I actually liked the ending a lot. But I could kinda tell what was going to happen due to the split POV. I think in order to really surprise us with that ending, Veronica Roth should have made the trilogy in split POVS. I really like Four's character though. And I even ended up liking Peter

Patrick (patrick_castro) How did you guys think it compares to other dystopians this year? I did the Divergent stays true to it's roots and it still has the originality than the Hunger Games.

Tris and Four all the way!

Paige (thewordshakermockingjay) Really? I would have said that Allegiant strayed a lot from the roots of divergent. I loved divergent, but insurgent and Allegiant took a different path that wasnt as good in my opinion. I thought hunger games stayed very true throughout the series, but maybe that's because I'm a diehard HG Fan!

Jenny (juliababyjen) I would actually compare it more to Mockingjay, but I liked Mockingjay a little better.

Champion was 20 times better IMO! The Legend trilogy is definitely one of the better dystopians I've read!

One of my fave dystopians series I read this year was The Dwellers series and the Country Saga series by David Estes. They were sister dystopian series, and then there was a final book The Earth Dwellers (The Dwellers, #4) by David Estes that was an epic ending to both of them. REALLY amazing book, and I loved how it all ended!

I also really liked Requiem (Delirium, #3) by Lauren Oliver and how it ended the trilogy, but a lot of people didn't.

Patrick (patrick_castro) I tried with the Delirium series, but I just couldn't. It lacked action and that fast pacing I wanted. Maybe I would pick it up in the near future?

Paige (thewordshakermockingjay) I didn't like the Delirum series either. I thought the main character(whose name I can't even remember) was annoying. I thought it was more about the romance and not enough action. I heard it was being tuned into a tv series though...
