5.1 -- In the Kitchen
The kitchen is for cooking and food preparation. Read a cookbook or a nonfiction book about food or food preparation. These lists might help: Best Cookbooks, Food-Related Non-Fiction, Locavore Reading List, Best Diet Books

Bea | 3866 comments I've been wanting to read Fast Food Nation: The Dark Side of the All-American Meal and Waiter Rant: Thanks for the Tip-Confessions of a Cynical Waiter. Both appear on the Food-Related Non-Fiction list. Here is hoping I can get one from the library.

Bea | 3866 comments Would Waiter Rant: Thanks for the Tip-Confessions of a Cynical Waiter work? It is on the Food-Related Non-Fiction list but isn't focused so much on preparation as on serving food.

If not, my backup is Fast Food Nation: The Dark Side of the All-American Meal.

It still relates to people's relationship with food, so Waiter Rant: Thanks for the Tip-Confessions of a Cynical Waiter. So will Fast Food Nation: The Dark Side of the All-American Meal (which was fantastic, by the way).

I didn't go through all her books but her two most popular, Tender at the Bone: Growing Up at the Table and Garlic and Sapphires: The Secret Life of a Critic in Disguise, work. If you have a different one in mind and have questions about it, let me know.

My husband has Garlic and Sapphires on his bookshelf so that one looks like a winner.

That'll work for your one book between 80 -100 pages for ONE 5 point task. It looks really cute!

The description of the book says it explores "our love/hate relationship with food." So, yes, that works.
