In the United States, a nation that spends more on health care than its industrialized peers, Black women die from pregnancy-related causes at rates three to four times higher than their white counterparts.

We only know what we're told, so we don't know about missing black children because we are not told about them. We don't know about black women dying from pregnancy-related causes because those deaths are not covered by Time or our local newspapers.
