How do we deal with timing/spoilers? Individual threads for defined points in the book? Does someone set them up before hand?
I think the best way to avoid spoilers would be when starting a new discussion to put in the title what chapter you'd like to discuss and a general idea of what you'd like to discuss without giving away any spoilers (Chapter 4 - Bureau of Propaganda).
Another idea is to create a new discussion board for each chapter and readers can join the discussions when they've finished that particular chapter.
Regardless, as long as we make known what chapter were wanting to discuss I think well avoid spoilers that way.
Thoughts?

I read (and posted) a review of Allegient, and I'm not sure how they do it, but in each comment it says "spoiler" and then you have to click on (more) to read the rest. For those who've read it you can understand why they had to do it that way - EVERYONE wanted to comment on the ending. I tried to figure out how to do it that way but couldn't. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...
I don't know about dissecting each chapter - I usually just finish a book and let it "stew" for a day and then write my comments. If we can't figure out how to hide the spoilers, then we should clearly write SPOILERS in the beginning.

Yes, I've seen that - but this is like several sentences in - and then it's hidden until you click "more". There must be a way to insert something, so that you can begin a generalized review, and then ((hide)) what you write about any spoilers.

So there could be a general discussion with a disclaimer that if you choose to participate you might see SPOILERS and then individual chapter threads as well... doesn't seem so bad.
I got an answer about how to hide spoilers:
Jane wrote: "How do you hid the spoilers? I'd love to be able to do that when reviewing books."
I placed < spoiler > and < /spoiler > before and after the content I want to hide :) (without the spaces, of course)
So, (Jane again writing), here is me trying that: (view spoiler)

Hello everyone! December has finally arrived which means (among other things) that it's time to start reading our first book 'Brave New World'.
I've created a folder specifically for discussions related to the book.
Looking forward to it!
