My theory was that (view spoiler)[ they weren't really zombies, more cannibalistic mutants since they are different from humans but humans that get bitten only get infected and die, they don't seem to turn or reanimate. (hide spoiler)]

I stopped in the middle of destruction.

So far I am really liking it. I like that seems to have a fair amount of story progression and action right off the hop as I found that to be lacking in book two.

The other settlement(view spoiler)[, I was so happy and proud of them for trying to help and agreeing to send 50 men!! Hopefully things don't end badly for them (hide spoiler)]

It's all good. I am listening to the audiobook so I don't have a great idea of how far I am.

Yes, they are starting to really give us answers...it's crazy

they travel a lot tho, so I'm not quite sure where you are....it's been a lot of travel lol and a lot of settlements so we're learning how everyone has lived and survived. it's interesting.

Well the way I am understanding the Freaks is (view spoiler)[ that the warfare / viral stuff changed some people and those people bred and slowly evolved (or quickly as their evolution is quicker than that of the non effected humans. From everything I recall the people who get bit get an infection and die. I don't think the humans can become freaks unless they were originally exposed to whatever chemical/biological warfare. Interesting that the freaks have split into different groups. I wonder if this may eventually lead to an alliance with the group of freak who disagree with the horde?
