Amazing, guys! Honestly, I've stumbled upon some writer's block. I think basing a novel on my own life and attempting to write it in just one month was really ambitious, especially for my first NaNo. My word count is hovering around 5k, a few unsure words added each day. I'm restless to get to the point with the novel, but I know I should be taking the time to develop all of the issues. I think I might try developing the climax and the events directly around it and then try to build up everything else around it. I honestly wish I could keep a diary, because it would make the "memory recall" stage a bit simpler, especially when trying to recall my feelings. I only have two or entries that I can really work from right now. Oh, the challenges...
Today ~ (another good day, yay!) 3,657 words. this weekend i shall be busy and so writing may take a back-seat for 2 days.
My sweet sixteen is coming up so I have to meet with the DJ tomorrow--but it's a long drive out, so I think that I'm going to try to write as much as possible on the way. I also have to get a flu shot on Monday, so I guess I know how I'll be passing time in the waiting room :)

It was also a year of change too, as i went to College and left (in a sense) my childhood behind. x
I am on a roll...i have written almost 3,000 words and it is only 11am! (i began writing at 9am so it has been about 2 hrs).
...i had better not stop or i will become distracted and lazy.
*Like being distracted by the internet and GoodReads perhaps?!*
*shakes finger at you*Get back to your writing, Lucinda!
Okay, i hit 18K last night :) need to hit 20K by today!
1,894 more words to write before midnight and absolutely no attention span present to do any of them.

That's great. I wish I could write like you. 3K within 2 hours ? I can write about 1K during the same time. I'm amazed by the speed of writing. Keep it up.
At the end of day 10, I wrote 2691 words to reach a total of 22161.
Wow. I'm quite behind. But I have tomorrow off school so perhaps I can write well over 2k. I don't always reach my goal word count. Urgh...
*growls* what's wrong with me??? Week 1 and i was easily able to write around the 3,000 word mark a day and yet today i can barely reach the 1,000 word mark without banging my head against the computer monitor! Why do i feel so struck down with fatigue? It's as though i know i have a lot to write and yet i can't seem to put the words onto paper.
I feel...
numb
Unable to concentrate?
Stressed...because

But it was before Nano started. I was writing a narrative descriptive novel about a man lost in the forest. When I reached around 20000, I felt as if it's all over. I had burned from the inside. I never wrote anything for it. In that I was writing more like 2500 - 3000 words daily, and after about 7 days. I couldn't write almost anything.
Careful about not burning myself again, I decreased the number of words I wrote daily while writing in Nanowrimo. I don't want to get that burned out feeling.
Anyway, I hope things would get to normal soon for you. And I hope nobody else gets burned out from writing. And I still wish everyone to not let yourself down, if anything like this happens.
Happy word hunting. :)
Thanks Shlomo, it is reassuring to know that i am not the only writer who has ever experienced this! I hope that by the morning or in a few days etc. that i will feel more energized to write.
I guess every writer goes through all these silly but difficult stages. Even as I write my novel, I'm ignoring the details and putting them for my second draft. I'm currently concentrating on the basic plot, which needs to go smooth. So I wrote one scene and started with another and paused in the middle, so I could get the air in between, until the end of the scene.Just entering dialogue and description fills up so many words. I wrote 2778 words, reaching 26271 on the total word count.
Jessica wrote: "You're just in a slump, that's all! I was too--I just got out of it yesterday"Each day is different. Today i think is not such a good day as my mind keeps wondering onto other things or just going blank. Another day i may wake up and write loads.
I only wrote about 1,500 but that's because I'm sick, so im home from school today and I'm going to try to catch up
Ugh. It's almost halfway through the month and I'm on schedule, but I'm frustrate because by now I'm usually at 50,000 words :(If I'm not careful, I'll fall behind again, which isn't an option. I reallyyyy need to try to hit 50,000 words while I'm here on vacation because once I get back to life and work I'll be soooo busy.
Talk about a yo-yo of results. Each day is so different for me. Up one minute, down the next. One day i can't tear myself away from my imaginary world, the next day i don't feel like a visit at all!
I have 6,323 words to write today and I'm really sick and can't even hold my pen so I don't know how that's going to work out D:
Wait youre write 6000. wordstoday? Im using the nanotracker so that whenever i fallbehind i can see how many words on average i have to write in order to pass nanowrimo. unfortunately ive been so far behind that i. have to write 3001 words per dy to make the 50000 . My novel wont be complete because there are so many fantasical idea globbed into one. But if youre writing 6k+ because youre not behind then whoohoo
Since NaNoWriMo began, I've written 2,000 words every day. However, I have been really sick for the past four days and couldn't write at ALL. so now I have to write 7800 words tomorrow in order to get myself back on track

I have a little more than 3,300 more words to write until I hit 34K--and I'll officially be all caught up! Woohoo!
