What do you think of the relationship between Tris and Four in Allegiant and how it progressed from Divergent, through Insurgent and finally in Allegiant?

Do you think they have a (realistically speaking) good relationship? 20 years from now, could you see them together as a couple?

Gergana I think their relationship got much more realistic in the second and the third book. In Divergent they were always kissing and loving each other, in Insurgent there was the first lie, the first fight. I didn't quite like their relationship in the third book. They promised each other no more lies and honesty and yet Four still lied to Tris and he still didn't trust her judgement, because he thought she was jealous!(As if!) But in the end (not the very end! A little before the end!) they got together again. Cause, you know that's how relationships are! There are fights then there is love again.
And I like to imagine them as a couple 20 years from now. But I can't! (view spoiler)

Amy (dollyames) | 2 comments I think they made great progess with their relationship and how they learned to compromise and talk to each other, But, I think is an unfair and misleading question - especially since I've finished the book.

Brittany (weareattached) I liked how there relationship progressed. It was one of the truest relationships I've seen in a story. They were not without conflict, but that conflict wasn't another person. I hate that a love triangle is often the only obstacle couples face (or people not wanting them to be together). I liked that Tris and Tobias fought. They had to fight to survive and fighting was in them. It made their relationship believable and realistic.

Veda (vedareads) Yesss I love them together and think that their relashinship is very realaistic ☺

Tris and Tobias are my favourite literary couple (can I even say that anymore, because Tris is dead?). Or they were. I ship them hard.
I really don't have a lot to say. I thought they were perfect for each other. They helped bring out the strength in each other. They fought for each other. Were there for each other. Like when Tris got all suicidal in Insurgent. Tobias was angry, but constantly there to remind her that her life is worth living. Or how Tobias became all rash and brooding in Allegiant. Tris was angry as well, but right away told him what a whole, good person her is.
For me their relationship was dynamic but real. And thankfully V.Roth never felt the need to throw in a love triangle to spice things up. It was never needed. Relationships are hard work in normal life. Add in this dystopian world instead and it takes things to another level.
And yes they fought and lied to each other. But as the intensity of confrontations heats up of course it's going to take a toll on their relationship. It's only natural. They're both strong minded people with their own views on a situation. They are never going to agree on everything. And in the end they did it out love and protection.
Like Tobias says, "Or I was so used to lying instead of telling difficult truths that I welcomed the chance to deceive her." page 262

There was equally as many cute moments as heart breaking moments between them in Allegiant. And it's hard not to be able to picture a future after the book with them together. Happy. Like I want to. But 'tis how V.Roth wanted to shatter our hearts. Forever.
Here's my favourite quote that totally sums up their relationship for me:
"I used to think that when people fell in love, they just landed where they landed, and they had no choice on the matter afterward. And maybe that's true of beginnings, but it's not true of this, now.
I fell in love with him. But I don't just stay with him by default as if there's no once else available to me. I stay with him because I choose to, every day that I wake up, every day that we fight or lie to each other or disappoint each other. I choose him over and over again, and he chooses me."
Tris page 372

Emily (bookscleverness) I have always loved Tris and Tobias' relationship because of how real and raw the emotions between them are. As I was reading Allegiant and they were yelling at her I of course was sad they were fighting, but when I sat back and looked at it, I realized how realistic and emotionally raw these characters were written. Props to Veronica Roth being such a talented author who can create such heart-wrenching and realistic relationships.

Destini (firelordazula) Spoiler alert: I think Four and Trus had a much more mature yet sweeter relationship in Allegiant. I can still see them as a couple but Veronica... she bruned that bridge. Big time.

Sabri (not_your_average_bibliophile) | 6 comments I loved Tris and Tobias' relationship from the very start. Every time they kissed I would smile, literally. I think that in Allegiant is when you finally see that they truly loved each other and that only death could separate them. In Divergent, they went through the death of Tris' parents and Tobias almost killing Tris. In Insurgent, they both went through pain, lies, and betrayals. In Allegiant, you see them as lovebirds again but way more mature. They both thought they would have a future of living together in a home safe and sound. I could have thought that in thirty years they would have children running around in their house. In Allegiant you see that Tobias loves Tris and Tris love Tobias. You see Tobias' love for Tris even after she dies. He flew down the John Hancock building just for her. To me, that's true love. <3
