Mark Matthews (xmarkm) | 269 comments Just found this out an hour ago. My novel On the Lips of Children from Books of the Dead press will be 99 cents for the next 5 days. The Horror News Network called it "One of the scariest novels I have read this year."

Check it out on Amazon:

"A brutal, intense ride of claustrophobic horror and gritty, page-turning suspense. This is dark fiction at its visceral, chilling best." ~ Jan Kozlowski, author of Die, You Bastard! Die!

Sure thing! Thanks for grabbing a copy. It surprised me when my publisher told me of the sale, but I am glad for it.

Yeah it is funny you read my mind. I wondered how that happened and who made that decision. If you read my profile, you will see I was not able, due to disabilities, to read for 14 years. I have now been reading for a month I may be going onto 6 weeks I have to see when I joined here because it was about two weeks before that when I had read my first book in 14 years. So this whooole thing is new to me. Kindles, ebooks, being able to connect with the authors.

But then I wondered about things like you posted. As much as I love it, I feel honestly each time, even with the free books, guilty about picking them up for the Kindle for PC! But I get the general idea is to get the word out. And God Bless our moderator for posting lists everyday with the sales and freebies. But also you, and other authors that come here to tell us that we can get your books on discount for x amount of days. I know recently I had wanted a book that a friend told me about. Paid regular price because it looked that good and I trust my friends recommendation. But a week later it was $2.99! Oh well. (spellin?) Que Cera Cera!

And I am sure your publisher made the decision for a reason, and you know what? 5 is my lucky number. Maybe it will rub off on you! I hope lots of people grab your book. I am so up in the air I wish I had 10 sets of eyes so I can read a lot of books at once. Well if you look, I am reading six which I never thought I would do. Or even two at a time was absurd. But I let the books speak to me. I am in bed with 5 books now (lol..that does not sound right somehow) but I look at it like cable just like I can change the channels, with my books just like that I had enough of the biography, so now I want some horror. And the thing that is the most amazing to me, and thank God for my friend on here Meghan who told me to watch out on buying books because you need to look at the price compared to the amount of pages. Basically she had spent more than she should have, on a 16 page book. So I do check. Those short stories are like my commercials lol! But I love short stories and have picked up many short story collections.

So again, thank you for letting us know and I always make it a priority to do a review so you will see one when I am done with your book. I hope to add you to my favorite authors list :)

Have a good night!

Thanks! that is quite a story what you have been through. I am sure it drew out strengths in yourself and sharpened some things up that may never have been.

I am chuckling because, what I have gone through would make a very good book. And because I do not look sick, people have no idea of what I have been through and what I am still going through. I was always a strong woman, being raised by my mother and grandmother, but yes you hit it right on the button-the things I have been through, have brought me not only strength, more empathy, patience, a long list of things. And it did put a whole new perspective on a lot of things in my life and on life in general. I tell people I do not want their sympathy, empathy is ok but they need to know I am a glass is all the way full kind of gal and it helps a lot. Not to mention I have become much more aware of if a Doctor can help me or not in the first few minutes. It is amazing. I do a lot of things like Yoga, Reiki, acupuncture, etc to help my health and replace some medication. I am so happy to be off of the medication that made it impossible to focus and concentrate on doing the dishes forget about reading! But that is all in the past. I believe it all happened for a reason and I am just looking for signs and waiting to know why I suffered so much, and still do but in different ways now. I know when I meet someone online or a new friend, or maybe the checkout girl at CVS, and we talk a few minutes. If they have a problem that I have, I give them all of my time and all of the knowledge I can to help them out. I was blessed to be married to the man that I am. He proposed to me knowing I was going to be sick a lot. And here we are 20 years later on 11/6 the day we met. Married for 13 years on 6/3/13. I told him twice that it was okay to leave. It is a lot to deal with. But I cannot seem to get rid of him lol! Nice to chat with you. I really like to share what I have been through because I did not walk for a year. Like I said, many stories, many things. But it made me who I am today. I cannot wait to read your book I just double checked that it got to my Kindle. Have a great start to your week :)

Love and Light
Mollydee
