The Master and Margarita by Mikhail BulgakovI found this book challenging but also easier and more amusing than I had expected, and I can certainly see why it is on the 1001 list.
The Woman in White by Wilkie CollinsI'm glad I read this novel. While I found the dialogue a bit overwrought, Collins' structural retelling from different characters was well done, particularly his villainous characters.
The Heather Blazing by Colm Toibin.A poignant exploration of a withdrawn personality. Many of the themes and events were quite sad but the book does end on a hopeful note.
I just finished The Awakening I thought it gave us a lot to think about as to the role of women in society and what choices we are "allowed" to have.
Mia wrote: "Main Street by Sinclair Lewis."I really liked this book. I think it's the best of his I've read.
