Hmmm...based on the incredible cover, I'm not sure what I expected but...I love the story so far

I finished book 1

Judith (view spoiler)[ my goodness...he hid her, he tortured her. She said he didn't....hurt her like that....I wonder what happened in that house and why. Did he just keep her to stop her from saying what she'd seen. That the father killed her friend. And why did he do that?? (hide spoiler)]

I agree about the cover.... that paired with not having read anything about the book before hand threw me for a bit. I am actually almost finished with the book. Definate twists and turns... (Are their directions somewhere on how to hide spoilers?)

Ah, okay. I thought she was talking in her head cuz it just sounded that way, but then she specifically addressed Lucas. Most of her internal thoughts are directed to Lucas then. Okay. :)

and wow, this book is very very very good so far.

but she's so right! She's much safer if they believe she is dim. If they don't believe she can talk or think straight. She is so much safer. I fear for her. (hide spoiler)]

Lucas (view spoiler)[ I had wished he'd have called on her for more than what he said to her. I wish he'd asked more. He knows she's watched him
and I think the tables turned and now he's been watching her. I wish he was willing to talk to her like Maria does...just to give her something to hear (hide spoiler)]
