Welcome to our List of Time Travel Short Films to watch now PART 1 of 3

Due to maximum length of posts this list is in 3 parts, this post is part 1, then Part 2 on post #6, part 3 on #7:

Part 2: https://goo.gl/y69y76
Part 3: https://goo.gl/mFcTG5

With your help, this will be an exhaustive list of links to travel short movies to watch now. If you know a short TT film that isn't on the list, please post the link and I will add it.

TV episodes are not included.

Included are a mix of professionally made shorts (some of which are award winning or shown at film festivals) and some are low budget amateur videos. Whatever the budget, each of these have something to offer for us TT fans and you will find a massive diversity in sub genres from drama, horror, sci fi, comedy, romance to downright silly. I give my own short non spoiler opinions on each but yours may differ! So enjoy!

Record/Play (11 mins) http://vimeo.com/75869689
My absolute favourite. "A Scifi love story that transcends time and space" and boy does it deliver. Beautifully made, well acted, great soundtrack, gets crazier as it progresses, it thrills then reaches a powerful climax. Brilliant.

Route V50 (12:30 mins) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6HAV_A...
starring ROBERT DOWNEY JR, what more do you wanna know, why are you not watching it already!?!? OK, you wanna another reason, its flipping great. This was a promotion short film made for Volvo directed by Stephen Frears, a great prolific director who made films such as The Grifters, Dangerous Liaisons and High Fidelity.

Remote (19:24 mins) http://popcornhorror.com/films/remote-2/
Superb short only slighted tainted with sometimes amateurish acting. Warning, there are some shock horror moments. Great story. Reminds me of the film Frequency.

Paradox (18 mins) http://vimeo.com/8980063
Intriguing, intense mystery with a surprising end. Two men in a well seem to belong to two different times.

Time (7:04 mins) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBly6L...
Wonderfully crafted. Well acted by 4 child protagonists discussing time travel. Mysterious and rewarding.

The Small Multiple (6:30 mins) http://vimeo.com/1404832
Won several festival awards. I found it intriguing but the story was way too straightforward unless there is something I am missing about the end. Perhaps you can enlighten me?

Maximum Stache: Quantum Redeemer (12:41 mins)
http://vimeo.com/71136960
Has some laugh out loud moments. Stupid but fun.

Hippocampus (13:03 mins)
http://vimeo.com/couchmode/channels/5...
Scroll to third video.
A girl cannot hold memories so a radical clinic enables here to time travel to the past through memory linking. Engaging..but what happened at the end, do you know?

Windows (8:43 mins)
http://vimeo.com/71258516
A Time Traveller's Wife-esque short film nicely shot but conclusion is tepid.

"Unpossible" (3:41 mins) http://vimeo.com/2725986
I like the title more than the movie itself. This is one of those terribly cliched and predictable loopy time travel shorts. It goes for complexity to overcome un-originality. But judge for yourself.

Time/Out (9:30 mins) http://vimeo.com/1248773
Well this one cant be criticised for un-originality that's for sure. Its quite clever. It has an uncomfortably sick theme (all suggestive) but stick with it. I dont actually like it because of its disturbing revelation but its still one to watch.

Stealing Time (17.5 mins): http://vimeo.com/36729645
Awesome, clever and it has a dog. Great production considering it was done as a challenge given several rules on Reddit. Just one thing I dont like about it: (view spoiler)

The Traveler (2.4 mins): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQ7XL_...
I have no idea what the hell this is, its rubbish imo but I include it for completion and perhaps you might like it.

A Little bit Behind (7.36 mins): http://vimeo.com/30298053
Pretty funny short of an Aussie who builds a time machine with social repercussions, done in the style of a documentary article.

The Water Echo (13.44 mins): http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=...
An admirable student project film but too long and ultimately terribly predictable for us time travel aficionados.

Modern Man (3:10 mins) http://mightymega.com/2013/11/17/mode...
Amusing setup but I dont see what the payoff is at the end, do you?

Counter: (10.03 mins) http://vimeo.com/66365774
Enter password: AgentNova
Very techy and looks impressive. Problem is, the time travel plot is so convoluted, I dont understand what the heck is going on, do you?

FUTURE_INC_by _Future_Tense: (5 mins) http://vimeo.com/41113654
Funny yet poigant and ultimately powerful. Winner of the Sci Fi London film festival 48hr short movie challenge.

Ollie Klublershturf vs. The Nazis: (10.4 mins) http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/d8f6...
Funny short directed by a Pre-Lost Damon Lindeloff and starring some familiar faces including a pre Thor Chris Hemsworth.

12:01 PM: (27.51 mins) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCB0wR...
This lengthy short pre dates the movie Groundhog Day but treads similar ground. Its a well acted, darkly comic and increasingly intense short movie.

Ad Infinitum: (6.16 mins) http://vimeo.com/1758225
Amateurish acting but good payoff!

Sooner or LAter: (11.11 mins) http://www.daazo.com/film/2e9d38be-12...
Well acted, tense and very mind screwing (think Primer)

Time Freak: (12mins) http://itunes.apple.com/us/movie/time...
2012 Oscar Nominated for best short live action movie. Costs $1.50 or $1.99 in HD. Funny, sweet quirky comedy about a neurotic scientist who builds a time machine. He has great plans for it but what he ends up using it for is hilarious. Polished production, very witty.

Echo (2010): (7.51 mins) http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=...
Delightful little indy short about a genius child scientist testing his time machine. See if you can pick up the subtle musical homage to Back to the Future and the time travel segment of Harry Potter & The Prisoner of Azkhaban.

A Time Machine Book Story: (10.07 mins) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ilbRVL...
Very Youtuby, tacky production, amateur acting, overlong, silly but has a goofy charm nevertheless with a somewhat Monty Pythonesque ending.

Time Travel Madness: (4.01 mins) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1L-Jli...
Very predictable but a good short example to use in discussing paradoxes. (view spoiler)

Built a Time Machine to Kill Hitler: (3.52 mins) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dq0irg...
Youtuby production values once again but fun and illogical/logical time travel madness.

Amazon Yesterday Shipping: (1.41 mins) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HA_gwz...
Hilarious fast paced two minute short about a radical new delivery service.

Hirsute: (13.46 mins) http://vimeo.com/2381662
Won several festival awards. Very good and takes a turn not many would expect...pretty damn creepy too. (view spoiler)

The Chronology Protection Case: (43.28 mins) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrRiFZ...
Excellent SF story written by our regular group author contributor, Paul Levinson. Well executed low budget thriller. Features the universe as a character. You'll know what I mean when you watch it. (view spoiler)

A Clear Sky on a Bad Day: (17.42 mins) http://vimeo.com/44707969
Deep, well acted poetic short. Quite powerful but spoiled a little by an erratic soundtrack. Japanese short with English subtitles.

Five Minutes Back: (2.37 mins) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sp9UD3...
Pretty Funny. Spot the guy with beard at the end.

Tony Ho - Time: (8.42 mins) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qlKZM...
Synopsis: Estranged father and son attempt to make amends but time keeps on slipping...
Good acting, excellent dark comedy with a slow build that becomes relentlessly insane.

Flying Man: (9.20 mins) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gj1MqH...
Officially, not a time travel movie but it is brilliant. The reason I include it is because:

(view spoiler)

"The Machine" - A Tale of Dog Parks and Wormholes: (0.45 mins) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9o3L1...
Only 44 seconds but you have to watch this TWICE!

Time Travel Boy: (12.54 mins) http://vimeo.com/44964879
Sweet, poignant silent movie about a boy who goes to great lengths to give his mum his birthday present.

Initium: (5 mins) http://vimeo.com/69373180
CGI action movie extravaganza. Very polished student movie project.

Time Travel(Short Movie): (3:34 mins) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSBBID...
Very amateur youtuber video, not to mention the most unimaginative title but slightly amusing at the end.

Time Travelling App: (4.26 mins) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbX7Ox...
Feels too long, this is not really a short movie, just a youtuber talking about his time travel app for Iphone. Its amusing, the guy is funny, deadpan with a Droopy slow talking delivery.

Karl Pilkington talks about Time Travel: (3.32 mins) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHZHFN...
Hilarious conversation from the British comic trio, Steve Merchant, Karl Pilkington and Ricky Gervais.

TIme Travel Phone (5 seconds!) http://5secondfilms.com/watch/time-tr...
5 seconds criteria short film comp.

Time Machine order (27 Secs) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gY6ln_...
Another ultrashort.

Misadventure in Time (1.09 mins) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vogy4...
Fairly amusing minimalist animated short. Nothing new but its just one minute.

Time Travel Lover. (10:07 mins)
http://vimeo.com/99045058
Focus is on comedy, no plausibility. Amusing but not as original as it thinks.

Ticked Off (5:47 mins)
http://vimeo.com/92595429
Nifty Animated short.

Timeholes (1:59 mins)
http://youtu.be/28YwNsqECO0
Very British, very funny.

I've seen many of these, but there are a few that are new for me. Thanks for taking the time to post the definitive list.

P.S. I agree with your comparison of "Hirsute" to our previous book-of-the-month selection.

One suggestion: could you include the time of each video? I had to save some of the longer ones for later when I had more time. Knowing the time would help us to know which ones we have time to watch. Thanks again for putting the time and effort into compiling this list.

Done! Good suggestion, John, I agree it does help.

******MAIN TIME TRAVEL SHORT FILM LIST PART 2******* continued from first post.

ReCursion (22:06 mins)
https://vimeo.com/115677771
The first one was featured on Amy's March newsletter. A very accomplished feature and seems to have won a few accolades around the short film festival circuits last year. For good reason. This feels like a more polished and humorous version of Primer...so prepare to be headspun. However, I like how this acknowledges the obvious pitfalls of time travel movie loops which progresses to a frantic "get me out of this loop" thriller. Quite brilliant with a great conclusion that needs some thought to working it out. Oh its about the worst Best Man in the world who has to go to great lengths not to screw up a simple task of holding onto a ring. Good performances.

Time Trap (7:47 mins)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bpmkp...
The first of the Kickstarter projects, this one reminds me of a Legend of Zelda game where Link uses time bubbles to solve puzzles. This is a pretty quirky film with a Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy vibe to it.

Double Trouble (10:50 mins)
https://vimeo.com/112690479
The second Kickstarter, this is another amusing one with some silent comedy style slapstick but ultimately too silly.

Back to the Fuhrer (4:57 mins)
http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/253a...
This is hilarious, sweet and mildly unnerving! Laugh out loud comedy about an attempt to go back and kill hitler.

KUNG FURY! (31:01mins)
http://youtu.be/bS5P_LAqiVg
The final and most anticipated kickstarter turns out flipping GLORIOUS, giddily insane and a wild tribute to us boys and girls that grew up in the 80s...crazy crazy crazy and fun fun fun.

Moebius (10 mins)
https://vimeo.com/30215350
...And another successful kickstarter. Technically brilliant, well acted and an effective thriller...if you have never ever seen a time travel movie or short before in your life because otherwise this is ultimately a BIG YAWN for originality. Sigh.

No title for this one.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0xp3...
Oh dear, you can skip this one, I am just including it for completion, this next one is just a tacky amateur short made in Somali but I kinda hate it.

One Minute Time Machine (5:40 mins)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBkBS...
Link posted by Randy. This is a wittily scripted short about a man with a one minute time travel box who attempts to use it to make a pull. The comedy is in the dialogue and has a great payoff.

The Misadventures of Incredible Dr. Wonderfoot
http://vimeo.com/groups/nitehawkshort...
This is great fun. Trust the Japanese to be so imaginative yet again.

Russel Curtis
http://vimeo.com/71310257
Fairly amusing but tries to be too clever and is a bit tacky.

Sounds Beautiful (6:23 mins)
http://www.michaelamendola.com/#!reel...
Top marks for a unique time travel concept where sound is time travelling before the event but the acting very amateurish.

Old Timers (10:26 mins)
http://vimeo.com/71261370
Pretty interesting feud between two time travellers. some artistic camerawork going on but there doesnt seem to be any time travels whatsoever.

Bobby Loves Mangos (19:28mins, main film starts at 1:08 after the "selling up" intro)
https://vimeo.com/37147112
Excellent student movie made in 1998, low budget, good acting, great story and fascinating conclusion.

Inside Amy Schumer - Time Travel (3:23 mins)
https://youtu.be/j5DSSjTeJZE
Very funny skit with Amy in typical Amy persona.

What Going back to the 90s would actually be like
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TGj2...
This is not an actual short film, more of a youtuber sketch...however, its pretty damn good, with quite a thought provoking theme done with a darkly cynical sense of humour.

I'm You Dickhead... (11 mins)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAUjt...
So wrong but so funny, good comic performance.

Time After TIme (16mins)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMNsw...
Its 1985. A young couple drives home from seeing Back to the Future movie. Very funny, though gets a little tiresome at the end.

Future Loins (2:40 mins)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6t1Wm...
Short and excellently scripted pay-off.

Tangent (4:06)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YoEUA...
YAWN yawn. Very bland cheap student effort short film-making with typical theme. Nothing wrong with its logic though.

Deppart (5:11)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yvCWM...
Awful and irritating 1st year student film but you maybe more tolerant of their efforts.

Therefore I am (6:36 mins)
https://vimeo.com/129969087
A well made short, not totally original but engaging and well acted.

Timelike (8:20 mins)
https://vimeo.com/134786451
Superb found footage style film, intriguing and acceleratingly tense but it does suffer from being overlong and a "want more!" ending syndrome.

Future Hero (6:32 mins)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZJbr...
Hugely enjoyable short, witty dialogue and a great comic performance from the main protagonist. Excellent story, well made and polished production. Enjoy.

Interview with a Time Traveller (10:01 mins)
Ten minutes of two men in a room. The dialogue is good with a fascinating version of Blade Runner's "I have seen things..." speech from a time traveller's perspective. It builds a mystery and intensity and turns into a personal drama but I dont feel any emotion at all for the characters.

Exit Log (8:00 mins)
https://www.shortoftheweek.com/2014/0...
Superb production, in fact so big, the credits roll for two minutes making this short film effectively 6mins instead of 8. Set in the future, the ability to time travel for a maximum of 3 mins is implemented as a tool for emergencies on space crafts. Engaging.

Trapped in 1994 (8 mins)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G0Cmd...
Silly, amateur acting but ending has a twist.

Time Travel (17:43 mins)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4hpr...
A decent drama story, fairly engaging despite amateurish production and acting. About two friends whom one has built a time machine.

The Charades of Time (11:32 mins)
https://www.viddsee.com/video/the-cha...
A poetic and beautiful love story that focuses on the innocence of love, loss and the effect of time travel. I really like this one.

3 coins (19:05 mins)
https://www.viddsee.com/video/3-coins...
Absolutely wonderful spin of the "grant 3 wishes" tales of morality. Well acted, engaging and a conclusion that brought something wet in my eye. (view spoiler)

Silent Sins (29:01 mins)
https://www.viddsee.com/video/silent-...
Pretty good albeit lengthy supernatural horror short mixed with flavouring of time travel. Stay through the end credits! Singapore with English sub.

The Girl from Tomorrow (18:06 mins)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=npEYu...
A girl who claims she is from the future befriends a melancholic boy who is stupidly suicidal. Cute tale. Malasian with English sub.

PART 3 next post below

MAIN TIME TRAVEL SHORT FILM LIST PART 3 (continued from posts #1 and #6)

Adrifting (19:52 mins)
https://vimeo.com/130489566
Great tale of making hard choices. Strong message, well acted but stylised editing is very jarring for me.

"Old/New" (7:25 mins)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hIOw...
Highly enjoyable fable of a man who rapidly goes through different phases of tastes in everything from fav TV show to even his own name. Delightfully zippy production narrated Dr Suess style by comic Patton Oswalt.

Rope-a-dope (13:16 mins)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G5xAb...
Magnificent non-dialogue comedy done in a Groundhog Day/Martial arts style. Very funny, very slick, likeable star (very Jackie Chan-esque physical humour) and the most highly entertaining time travel short film so far for me.
It so good they made an even more awesomely clever epic sequel to it. Unmissable.

Rope-a-dope 2 (17:57 mins)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z5VSi...
This is the awesome sequel to the above, this time two foes have groundhog day symptoms resulting in epic advanced confrontations! Again, unmissable.

Bender (18:28 mins)
https://vimeo.com/132827534
This was a successful Kickstarter. Its a funny short but some of the humour is a bit forced. Nice story though.

Alternation (10:55 mins)
https://www.viddsee.com/video/alterna...
This is CRAZY awesome in its execution! Hard to explain this one, just go with it. Set on a train, a mystery of theft. See if you can solve it with the aid of the masterful camerawork tracking. Iranian with English Sub (terrible translation but not damaging)

The Time Closet (6:14mins)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P2N-8...
Unoriginal, amateur but not unwatchable.

Auld Lang Syne ( 16:18 mins)
https://vimeo.com/128798531
Very good short film with a new spin on time travel in a world where it is a common recreation offered to the public. Fabulous performance by the lead actress. Quite a chunk of this short reminds me of Ricky Gervais' version of The Office.

Time Travel: A Love Story (8:09 mins)
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2y0521
Amateur short film. A love story version of Back to the Future with blatant references. Its ok but amateur acting.

The Machine (18 mins + 12 mins for incomplete additional footage)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhxHg...
OK, this is not strictly a short. Its just an intro to an incompleted movie. But included in this list as film maker presents the intro as standalone.
Its very talky and amateurish but some interesting concepts covered. If you interested in seeing what movie would have been like, watch the last half of this video which tries continues the story with incomplete effects and notes for what was to come:
https://youtu.be/boI7dPPuIZ0

Sex, Lies and Terminators (13:26mins)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wc3mp...
The infamous T800 and T1000 have a new mission to change the future...to sleep with Sarah Connors before the events of the first Terminator film! Interesting, if absurd idea done in a bizarre romantic drama. Cant quite figure the this one out due to the dialogue being quite difficult for me to grasp clearly. I Like the T800 arnie impersonator, though.

Just in Time (14:06 mins)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1o3ox...
A young man tries out different time travelling devices to create opportunities in the past but hes always late. DIalogue-less, deliberately slow burning, makes no sense to me, main character bland as hell but tries to be poetic and has a gentle rhythm to it. You might like it and pick something more from it than I did.

Talisman (5:10 mins)
https://www.viddsee.com/video/talisma...
A heartless thief steals from an unconscious body on the road. Amateur budget film but has a satisfying karma to it.

Reverse (6:34 mins)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Iw37...
Good amateur effort. Time travel element is akin to the movie, Edge of Tomorrow.
.

Echo/Back - The time travel virus (7:22 mins)
http://youtu.be/HTI43JmaT9E

Lots of futuristic special effects. Interesting new concept of time travel being a virus breakout. It all feels a bit too chaotic but the ending gives it more sense and is actually quite thrilling.

Celluloid Dreams https://vimeo.com/171213721 (10:59 mins)

Beautifully poignant, multi award winning film about an old home projector enthusiast playing home made video reels of his happier memories.

Timetorians http://youtu.be/W8DI_UrgVxs (13mins)
Tedious amateur short film about an official time travel team of the future who fixes problems in the past. Awful. But included here for completion

Playing with Time Travel https://youtu.be/A3kApBebmCo (5:29mins)
i tell you what, bare up with the clearly untrained children acting abilities and I promise you will get a reward for the patience. If this was played out by trained actors, this would have been a clever funny short but the children (though rather cute) can be a bit much.

An Untimely Death https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9aD1...
Another amateur youtube short. OK if predictable plot, irritating soundtrack and poor acting

Where You Are https://vimeo.com/180000452 (13:28mins)
Whoa. Unique, haunting, insane and powerful. A must see. Doing the film festival rounds, this truly deserves an award. Its ingeniously shot and beautifully crafted.

Beyond https://youtu.be/heCXjUIvw24 (40mins)

This is a long one but it is beautifully filmed, impressive production, well acted and a very epic journey across two millenniums, totally worth the investment in time which you wont regret.

While I love this film, I do have gripes but overall I appreciate the filmmakers do address my time travel concerns (view spoiler)

Clock, Anti-Clock https://youtu.be/kImjwXl_As8 (6.20mins)

Time runs backward for this hapless fella. Not a bad idea and good effort in executing a world in reverse with relatively zero budget but not perfectly. Was good enough to inspire our Paul to write an interesting article on his excellent blog called "is time personal?" here:

https://www.time2timetravel.com/clock...

Jump https://vimeo.com/125526543
Unoriginal amateur filmmaker entry.

I'm You https://youtu.be/C5-LbsTyteU
Not so predictable, not bad conclusion, amateur entry. Terrible sound levels.

Oh my. How did this get by unnoticed until now.

Forget all the rest I'posted thus far...forget about even Robert Downey Jr.

This is the greatest short film of the lot. Its 3 months old. This is what I call a bona fide short story Sci fi. The story synopisis states "A love story that transcends time and space" and boy does it deliver on that, in just 11 minutes. Its beautiful yet gets crazier and crazier as it progresses. I even laughed out loud at how crazier this was getting but at the same time, so thrilling too and then it reaches a powerful end.

I am placing this at the top of the master list and will keep it there.

Its called Record/Play

http://vimeo.com/75869689

Edit: 6th June 2015. There has been many good short films since but this is still my favourite ever time travel short!

Today's short time travel movie is an intriguing mystery of two men in a well that seem to belong to two different time. The short builds up the mystery and intensity to a surprising end.

I have some things to say about the ending which I will put in spoiler. Dont read until you have seen the film and would like to hear your thoughts too.

Today's short is one of my top favourites. Wonderfully crafted, well acted by 4 child protagonists. An elegant capture of childhood innocence. Mysterious, engaging and rewarding. Provokes an intelligent discussion on the feasibility of time travel and its rules.

Time Travel Lover. (10:07 mins)

Focus is on comedy than any kind of plausibility. Its amusing but if you have seen most of the short movies on this thread, you may not find it that original.

Well, a year ago, I posted about a promising wacky kickstarter short movie called Kung Fury in the "Upcoming short Movies" thread. Nathan has just recently posted a link to the final product which I will add to this list and its flipping GLORIOUS, giddily insane and a wild tribute to us boys and girls that grew up in the 80s

Its KUNG FURY!

I havent forgotten...I never knew about it :)

That was very good and for once not trying to do the same thing as countless other time travel short films. The film was made 17 years ago yet having seen it for the first time, feels a refreshing spin to the abundance of "loopy" time travel stories. Its got a very low budget production (natrurally, as it was a student project) but the actors are good (though not the kids...ah, bless their lack of acting talent!) and the story rocks which makes this worth the 18 mins viewing time. I could have done without the the "selling up" introduction at the beginning (though good on them to get Ebert endorsement!)

Thanks for posting it! Added to the main list.

3 more good ones (added to main list Message #1, #6 and #7):

Future Hero (6:32 mins)

Hugely enjoyable short, witty dialogue and a great comic performance from the main protagonist. Excellent story, well made and polished production. Enjoy.

Timelike (8:20 mins)

Superb found footage style film, intriguing and acceleratingly tense but it does suffer from being overlong and a "want more!" ending syndrome.

A well made short, not totally original but engaging and well acted.

Our 70th and 71st entries on our building database (posts #1, #6 and #7).

Engaging.

I believe there is an untapped wealth of good/great international time travel short films. Takes more effort to find them from a westerner angle but will be rewarding, I'm sure.

Here are a couple of very rewarding examples from Singapore and Hong Kong respectively.

The Charades of Time (11:32 mins)
https://www.viddsee.com/video/the-cha...
A poetic and beautiful love story that focuses on the innocence of love, loss and the effect of time travel. I really like this one.

3 coins (19:05 mins)
https://www.viddsee.com/video/3-coins...
Absolutely wonderful spin of the "grant 3 wishes" tales of morality. Well acted, engaging and a conclusion that brought something wet in my eye. (view spoiler)

Continuing this international short movie phase, here are a few more short films added to the DB on posts #1 and #6 and #7.

Silent Sins (29:01 mins)
https://www.viddsee.com/video/silent-...
Pretty good albeit lengthy supernatural horror short mixed with flavouring of time travel. Stay through the end credits! Singapore with English sub.

The Girl from Tomorrow (18:06 mins)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=npEYu...
A girl who claims she is from the future befriends a melancholic boy who is stupidly suicidal. Cute tale. Malasian with English sub.

Back to English speaking shorts, a couple of excellent ones here taking our main database total to 81:

This is a highly enjoyable fable of a man who rapidly goes through different phases tastes in everything from favourite TV show to even his own name. Its a delightfully zippy production narrated in a Dr Suess style by comic Patton Oswalt.

"Old/New" (7:25 mins)

This one is a great tale of making hard choices. Strong message. The stylised editing is rather too jarring for my liking though.

Brilliant Groundhog Day fused with comedy martial arts style action. No dialogue, pure physical comedy, very funny, very slick, likeable star (very Jackie Chan-esque in humour) and the most highly entertaining time travel short film so far for me.

It so good they made an even more awesomely clever epic sequel to it where the two foes both have groundhog day symptons resulting in advanced epic confrontations.

Unmissable.

Very good short film with a new spin on time travel in a world where it is a common recreation offered to the public.  Fabulous performance by the lead actress.   Quite a chunk of this short reminds me of Ricky Gervais' version of The Office.  However, I dont think I quite understood the narrative so I will need to watch it again tomorrow.

I actually contacted them on their facebook back then to get clarification having watched it twice and not really still getting the bigger picture. They replied to my first post when I said I will watch it again but they didnt reply to my follow up post when I did watch it again and still didnt get it, lol.

But in a nutshell I think: (view spoiler)

I like the performances in the short, I get the gist of the whole thing but it could have done with more clarity.

There will be a second sequel too! Hope they keep it fresh but so far, the first two films have been wonderfully progressive. Methinks there is only so far they can take the concept but a third film to make it an epic trilogy might be just right.

Thanks Peter, nope, I did not include this on the main list because its actually just an intro to what was supposed to be a movie.

The movie was never completed (probably due to budget and actors availability)...but was clearly ambitious if you watch this considerably longer expansion to to the film, where you see lots of green screens and notes on what was supposed to be seen on screen (watch last 15 minutes as the first 15 minutes is the same intro):

https://youtu.be/boI7dPPuIZ0

Its actually quite an intriguing set up when you watch that second half. I just noticed in the comments by the way, that the old actor who plays the time traveller, died. But the film was abandoned long before, anyway.

Thanks for brining it up, though....in fact, I will put it in the main list even if its not strictly a short film but the intro is enough to be a standalone and some interesting concepts were discussed :)
