Awesome. Speaking of World History, I know you're a fan of Greek mythology (me too) and the Percy Jackson series. Who is your favorite god or goddess?

He (Hitler) committed suicide along with his wife. he married her and five minutes later, asked his guards to shoot him and her. Their bodies were then burned.

message 27: by Davis (new)

Davis (davismattek) American History, 1900-1976

message 28: by Liz (new)

Liz (lizgore) | 61 comments is there a specific moment in history that is your fav?

message 29: by Davis (new)

Davis (davismattek) FDR's time period of course.

message 30: by Liz (last edited Jun 04, 2009 11:54AM) (new)

Liz (lizgore) | 61 comments a time when the people actually loved the president.....

message 31: by Davis (new)

Davis (davismattek) That has NOTHING to do with it. A time when a President acted in the best interest of the people, the Congress helped him out, and the people were not blinded by lies and hate.

George Washington also acted in the interest of people.

Davis (davismattek) Lena wrote: "George Washington also acted in the interest of people."

Yes. But FDR was in my favorite time period of history, and he was very liberal, setting the grounds for Modern Liberalism.

George Washington also acted in the interest of people. He established the government so that it would follow the morals of the Declaration of Independence and the words of the Constitution.

message 36: by Davis (new)

Davis (davismattek) I know this.

message 37: by Liz (new)

Liz (lizgore) | 61 comments he also reached out to the people and let them feel a sense of pride in their country

message 38: by Lena (new)

Lena (Weathy) | 89 comments Mod

message 40: by Lena (new)

Lena (Weathy) | 89 comments Mod
He was going against the usual 2 terms.

message 41: by Davis (new)

Davis (davismattek) And? The people wanted him. He died during his 4th term anyway.

message 42: by Lena (new)

Lena (Weathy) | 89 comments Mod
I know. That was very sad that he died in office :(

message 43: by Davis (new)

Davis (davismattek) It happens. People get old, get sick and die.
