I needed Jack Davenport to bridge my Brazos Bend books and the Callahan family backstory (ANGEL'S REST) with the events taking place in Eternity Springs. And, I've always had a thing for James Bond. :) I also really love to explore marriages/relationships in need of healing.

Their story is so beautiful I'm excited to start the group discussion about it.

Thank you for your answer.

Kay (kkfar) | 502 comments Question for Emily. Where did all Celeste's words of wisdom come from? Were they from you, friends, or things you have read, etc. or all the above?

Oh, wow. That one is hard. Pretty much all of the above. I swear Celeste talks to me. Sometimes, they pop into my head. Other times, I need her to say something about a subject and I'll go looking for quote and see something that I can twist around to make it hers. Whenever I hear something that sounds Celeste-y, I write it down, so I'll browse that from time to time. When Celeste talks to me I hear my Mom...and my Dad...and my favorite priest...and my sister...and even my daughter.

I still need to get to those Brazos Bend books! :-)

Okay...here's an example right here. I've been struggling with a scene today...just not finding my mojo with it. As a delaying tactic I decided to check the Goodreads group and I answered the Celeste question. I no sooner clicked back over to REUNION PASS than Celeste said, "Idiot, you need me in this scene!" Uh, duh. Of course I need her! The scene is about friendship!!

:) They're a little sexier, Sharlene. More suspense than my Eternity Springs stuff.

Kay (kkfar) | 502 comments Thank you Emily. It sounds like you are surrounded by wise, interesting and fun people as well as being one yourself. Celeste is such an interesting person and everything she says is well, funny or wise or interesting or philosophical or all the above. ☺️ You developed an awesome lady that really make this series that much better.

And I loved the Brazos Bend series. They got me started on Eternity Springs. Definitely more suspense and sexier is a very good description.

That series also got me started on the ES series. I love both.

I love that!! I am so fascinated by the stories authors tell about their writing process, highs and lows...thanks, Emily!

That's it - I have to find a way to fit in Brazos Bend this weekend around Reflection Point and the 3 ARCs I'm juggling...isn't that a terrible problem to have? Too many books and not enough time? LOL.

That is a Great problem to have! ☺️ So hard to decide where to start though. Good luck getting those all in but I do have one question. Are you a speed reader?

I have always been able to read fast - especially if I'm absorbed in the story; but I like to stop and savor my special books so I tend to read them more than once. (I also tend to buy them in every available format!) The main reason I was able to read three books last week was that I didn't do laundry, cook anything more complicated than a baked potato, and kept the turned TV off. I rarely give myself that much time to read, but a woman's gotta do what a woman's gotta do! LOL.

Cathy Genna - 2013 RWA Bookseller of the Year (rwa2013bookselleroftheyear) | 8 comments KK, I do the same thing when I love a story! But all formats and more than one copy. I am known to have extras in the car in boxes in case I need them at a moments notice to giveaway too!
YES, Eternity Springs is one the list!

Kay (kkfar) | 502 comments Paula And Cathy, I love you commitment to reading. I read all the time and do the other necessary stuff only when I have to. I use to love TV but these days I record my favorite shows and watch TV when I need a break from reading, which is usually when I am too tired to read or my eyes are tired from reading. I love to get lost in a good story. I also love my ereaders since I can carry them in my purse and pull it out whenever and wherever I want. I don't leave home without the. Unfortunately Paula I am not a fast reader. Quicker than I use to be but wish I could read faster. And keep on doing what you gotta do! LOL!

I started Reflection Point yesterday, tuned out the entire world until Ray came out to the great room to remind me to get dressed for our lunch date with our son and his girlfriend. I had to resist the urge to take the book in the car ... and I can't wait to keep going today. I love Zach even more right now. He's hilarious in the beginning of the book - I'm SO looking forward to the rest of his story.

Karen Ridge Emily. I would like to know what came of the missing STOP sign and Aiden Marshall? I was a telling point in the book but no follow through. Did I miss something? Thank you.

Refresh my memory, describe the scene.

I have to confess that at this point in the series some of the plot lines run together for me. I'm pretty sure I tied up the Aiden Marshall thing in REFLECTION POINT. As far as Jack and Cat's angel wings go, I thought I'd try skipping the actual presentation (though of course, they earned theirs) and see if readers would miss it. The answer is YES. I did hear about that and I probably won't do that again. Oh, and I might as well fess up here...I give Rose two sets. Totally forgot when I was writing TEARDROP LANE that I'd given her some in HUMMINGBIRD LAKE. Oops....

message 28: by Kay (last edited Aug 18, 2015 05:49PM) (new)

Kay (kkfar) | 502 comments Emily I understand how that could happen when you have so many books in a series. I would think it is very hard to keep up with all the details that could crossover the stories.

In Reflection Point we learned that TJ didn't do it and Mandy saw Aiden and his brother Throw the sign on the side of the road. Mandy picked it up and took it home. When TJ's cleared we learn Aiden is on vacation and Zack will follow through when they return. That is the last I read on the subject. I have read all of the books at least twice. Where am I missing this. Thank you.

Ah, I see. I failed to give you enough wrap up for that plot line. So sorry! I see now I should have added a sentence somewhere about the consequences Aiden faced.

We will just fill them in with our lively imaginations. I would LOVE to have seen his face when he saw Zach standing there with the stop sign...
