Thanks Andrew, you're making great progress!Ooooh yes please, I doubt there is much fiction set in the arctic. I'll steal it from you at some point. Got plenty to contend with at the moment though :D
If you want antartic try Shackleton or South: The story of Shackleton's last expedition 1914 - 1917.

I have no idea where this will take me; I don’t currently have any particular countries in mind so I will go wherever the wind blows.
Since I’m from Southwest England and so is the book I’m currently reading, I guess my journey begins with Sense and Sensibility - Jane Austen.
