Anahi | 23 comments Looking for books to read that have same fun premise as Terry Pratchetts discworld series. Any help great!

Rebecca | 15 comments The Mammoth Book of Comic Fantasy and its sequels include some short stories by Terry Pratchett and might serve as a good jumping-off point - Mammoth anthologies (especially those edited by Mike Ashley) are always good in my experience, they offer plenty of variety and allow you to find new authors you might like in context with familiar ones you already know you enjoy. Hope this helps. :)

Peter Meilinger | 469 comments First, have you read Pratchett's other series? They're aimed at younger readers but well worth reading. One series is about Nomes, very small humanoids who live life much faster than humans. It starts with Truckers and the whole series is collected as The Bromeliad Trilogy.

The second series is about Johnny Maxwell and his friends, and starts with Only You Can Save Mankind, which is good but I think the others are better.

Lou Rocama | 457 comments Jasper Fforde and Ben Aaronovitch both have a similar feeling humor, while being original. Kage Baker's books are more serious, but remind me of Pratchett's social commentary, particularly her later novels.

Fforde's Thursday Next Series: The Eyre Affair
Aaronovitch's series: Rivers of London
The second of Baker's Company series, which is a good one to start with: Sky Coyote

Kristen | 84 comments You could try A Spell for Chameleon. It's very pun-oriented.
You might also like Howl's Moving Castle.

Cheryl (cherylllr) More humor, if you're open to children's and YA books, look into Daniel Pinkwater.

Leigh (Paschendale) | 14 comments It isn't quite the same but quirky...check out Christopher Moore or Bill Fitzhugh.

Pamela Love | 1514 comments It's science fiction, not fantasy, but has some of the same feeling: Philip Reeve's Larklight and its sequels.
