This one I liked a lot. There an obsessive quality here that recalls Kafka, or maybe Borges. A Chilean exile in Barcelona has a near-fight with another exile, and afterwards becomes obsessed with the man and his wife. Odd sightings and bits of hearsay follow for months until the narrator and his nemesis find themselves drinking wine together and discussing the film, Andrei Rublev. A shocking, but somehow expected ending for this one. I'm beginning to slowly but surely understand Bolaño's universe.
