I don't need a lot of mods for this group, one or two if that. I do want to be sure that you're able to handle situations in a calm fashion, that you can speak with members in as nice of a way as possible, and that you've got a pretty level head.
Keeping that in mind, I am going to be pretty choosy on the people I pick. Fill out the outline below, and I'll have one or two picked in a few days.

Name (Screen name):
Former Mod Positions (links are appreciated):
Tell me what you would do in this situation...
A member here tells us about problems concerning underage drinking and substance abuse. Another member begins to give this member hatred towards said member because of this. When they are told to stop their comments, they get very angry and pull out the caps lock and cussing on you. What do you say to them?

I think that to keep calm is a first. Never lower yourself to using their language back at them. I think ask them if they are ok themselves and if the begin to get more loud then i think try and get people to ignore them, if that doesn't work then ask them calmly and nicely to leave

Don't have to choose me

Like Arwen, I would tell this member to calm down. The person (who the yelling is being directed at) is asking for help which is the mature thing to do and we don't want this person who has come forward, to feel worse. Cursing is a low move and no one should say such hurtful things to another person no matter what. I would privately send a message to the person who uses the caps lock and shouting and kindly ask him or her to refrain from using foul language and shouting at other members. I would tell him or her that if more bad language or shouting is used again, he or she will be removed and blocked from the group because this behavior is not tolerated and we want all members to feel safe and respected.

I'd love to be a mod! I don't know why, but I love giving advice....

Thanks for reading this!

also there is one more thing
its not you per say its just in general, we can delete the member but we can't stop them from just joining the group again. if that happens what do we do?

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

Actually, when you delete someone they are blocked from rejoining unless a mod allows it.

message 10: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (APCB Reviews) (gr8rach) Yup! Unfortunately, I've had to do that a few times.

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi. I'm just gonna answer that last question because I think you know the other answers. ;)

Well first of all I would tell that other member to please calm down. When they didn't, I would warn them that we don't tolerate that in this group. If they still don't listen I will probably ask them to please leave and if they continue after they have had a warning, I would delete them. After that, I would console the other member in their problems by giving advice, etc. etc.

Racheal Sunshine (lilrayofsunshine) I know you probably, most likely have enough Mods for now. So I'll just be a "Backup Mod" lol.

1. A member here tells us about problems concerning underage drinking and substance abuse. - I wouldn't judge, God is the only judge. I give them advice, try helping them the best way I can and pray for them.

2. Another member begins to give this member hatred towards said member because of this.
When they are told to stop their comments, they get very angry and pull out the caps lock and cussing on you.
What do you say to them? - I would speak (type) to them in a firm but polite way. Letting them know they have been warned, that they are getting put out the group, and why they are being put out the group. I would also pray for them.
