The main inspiration for my award winning children's book UNO died on August 31, 2013 @ 7:59 AM from a hyperactive thyroid as my wife and I watched :-( :-( :-(

The lesson the book tries to convey is the acceptance of others for who they are and not what they are.

So very sorry for your loss. When we lose much beloved pets, we miss them for a long time. But more importantly, I think, we remember them forever.

In "Pasha's" blog, I address the loss of a pet--and if you felt like it (now or in the future), I would very much like to feature your story (and your book)--(Pasha was our reading selection back in February).
