Stereotypes about Florida

I liked this book, but I couldn't help but notice how Katy would keep mentioning how Florida locals practically live on the beach and walk around shirtless and half naked with heavy tans and such. This annoyed me because I live in Florida, and I know for a fact that not everyone dresses and acts like Katy made it seem.
I live in Florida, only the tourists walk around with bathing suits all the time (I'm in the Southwest region, few hours above Miami). And like endless strip malls? No. Life is not one giant sandbox here. Lol.
i noticed that as well but you shouldn't let it get to you since it really only plays a role in that one book. you forget about where she's from pretty quickly.
i used to live in FL too but i guess being in Ft Laud/Miami meant that i did fall in to how she described folks. oh well.

I live in florida and honestly I rather not be a the beach! it is so hot here. Born and raised in florida and I don't see everyone shirtless!
My mom super white and she's lived her all her life O.O
