Away From Her

I just saw a rented version of Away From Her last night and loved it. It is so sensitive and moving -- paced so that each stage of Fiona's disease is observed. Julie Chritie is superb. No question why she is nominated for an academy for this performance. I hope everyone who has the potential to understand this disease sees this movie.

I agree, this was a wonderful film and all aspects of alzheimer's was handled with so much thought. I was really happy to see Julie Christie nominated. Another film that shows what this disease is about is "Iris", the true story of Iris Murdoch. Judi Dench, Jim Broadbent and Kate Winslet were incredible. Have you seen that one?
