Tanya | 263 comments I just finished After Long Silence. It was a great book about the damages of the Holocaust on families.

message 3: by Lil (new)

Lil | 12 comments What led you to read this book?

I started a shelf with Holocaust books - haven't updated it yet, but have a fair amount of books to put on it. My most recent book is "Those Who Save Us" by Jenna Blum - waiting to be read.

message 4: by Tanya (new)

Tanya | 263 comments It's one of my favorite genre's to read... I also do a book club with my fifth graders that all are about hidden children of the holocaust. We are lucky to have a survivor who was a hidden child come speak this year to the class!

message 7: by Tanya (new)

Tanya | 263 comments A Thousand Splendid Suns was a fantastic read! I read it in one sitting. I was amazed at the power in the women yet saddened that in today's time there is still such oppression. I thought this was better than The Kite Runner....

I read this book a month or so ago and just love it! I found it really interesting in how it ended and felt it could be taken a couple of ways. I enjoy hearing other peoples thoughts on the book.
