Hi All:

The New York Times website is down so I'm going to pick a book that I predict will be on the list either this week or next based on perusing other sites, THE BONE SEASON by Samantha Shannon, which just happens to be $4.99 on Kindle right now (http://amzn.to/1dyL3ON).

Also, for our new members, if you want to do some catch up, why not try one of the group's top 5 reads. The standings right now are (and there are also some great deals going on for these books):

The current top 5 are:

1. The Fault in Our Stars (check it out here: http://amzn.to/188n3te (only $3.99 as an e-book right now))

2. Gone Girl (check it out here: http://amzn.to/15goKt9)

3. The Banks of Certain Rivers (check it out here: http://amzn.to/Zeql9x (only $5.99 as an e-book right now));

4. And the Mountains Echoed (check it out here: http://amzn.to/11mfsDI); and

5. Divergent (check it out here: http://amzn.to/12vU0Bo (only $3.99 as an e-book right now and $6 as a paperback)

Donna Jo Atwood | 17 comments I just checked this out from the library about 3 days before you listed it. It's a Limited Loan (2 weeks instead of 3 and no renewals) so I've got to get it read--along with about fifteen other books.

Lynne (lynne_frappier) | 33 comments I'm actually happy that 1. you picked this book and 2. it was on sale on kindle when I bought it. I really enjoyed it (I gave it 3 stars simply because it took me a while to get into it 0 but I can't wait for the sequel). It encouraged me to read something out of my "comfort" zone - and not only did I get sucked into the future, but I was cheering on Paige and the "unnaturals" in their fight for their freedom. Thanks Catherine!

It took me a while to get into also. Not sure I will read the sequel, though. Feel like I know where it is going.

Rebecca (purplerrr) | 76 comments As I wrote in my review, my big mistake was listening to this and not reading it. Took me over 3 months to listen to it just because I felt like the reader was a mismatch to the story. I just wanna whine, "Please let's have something besides a dystopian future with a strong teenaged girl with some sort of special power that can challenge the powers that be. Pleeeeeeeeeeease. Be more creative. Explore a different trope. Pleeeeeeeeease." Sigh. Well written but so much exposition made it really draggy in places. May READ book two. May not. Just have to see how I feel when the time comes.

Wow, three months! I kind of felt the same way at the end. I enjoyed it, but not sure I'll read the next one. Apparently there are supposed to be 7 in all!
