Ammara | 5 comments i want advice for good books for my friend. she is not a regular book reader but now as she started reading books loke harry potter.She needs really good book particularly sci fiction, adult fiction and fantasy. recommend her some good books.
p.s i had recommend her to read harry potter and a thousand splendid sun

And if she has already seen the movie then:
The Picture of Dorian Gray
this is one book I will recommend to all if not then:
The Great Gatsby
this I one book that is prior to its movie.

if she likes fantasy tell her to read the lords of the ring series. it is the best in the genre so far.

Anna Erishkigal (annaerishkigal) @Ammara - if your friend is 'not a regular book reader' and also prefers Harry Potter, then I suggest you stick to books labelled as 'young adult.' Many adults enjoy young adult classified books because they can be read casually, for light fun. 'Tis better if she READS what you recommend, methinks? :-)

Cassandara Clare's 'The Mortal Instruments' series is about to be made into a series of movies. It's YA urban fantasy, not science fiction, but it is what many young people will be talking about this coming fall. Here is a link to the first book of the series.
