Let's see how sharp you are...of course with Google, you can cheat. But see if you can come up with the book title by identifying these quotes:

1. Prejudices, it is well known, are most difficult to eradicate from the heart whose soil has never been loosened or fertilised by education.
2. I've no doubt in my own mind that we have been invited here by a madman- probably a dangerous homicidal lunatic.
3. Ah, distinctly I remember it was in the bleak December; And each separate dying ember wrought its ghost upon the floor.
4. It was much pleasanter at home, when one wasn't always being ordered about by mice and rabbits.
5. The one thing that doesn't abide by majority rule is a person's conscience.

Marie | 92 comments I would have to guess at most of these....
However, I got one. "It was a dark and stormy night" Snoopy....Charlie Brown...LOL

message 3: by K (new)

K | 33 comments I got 2 (without cheating, but checked after I guessed):
#4 Alice in Wonderland
#2 And Then There Were None

I won't spoil the fun on the others for everyone else.

message 4: by Marilyn (new)

Marilyn | 143 comments # 3 sounds like Poe...rhyming Evermore or Lenore....

I've no clue for the other ones except #1 I thought might be Pride and Prejudice but I doubt it for some reason.

Fun stuff!
