Amazon Kindle Free Promotions

Do they work? Anyone have positive experience?
I recently did a 2 day free giveaway and 650 people downloaded my book which I thought was a pretty good result.

But so far no sales and no reviews! Typical?

I haven't done it yet but I think this is par for the course...and you need to give it a little time since they need a few days (grins) to read the book. Just be warned you won't probably get a ton of reviews--only a few...a lot of downloads just go into to be read piles...
