Walter Foddis | 12 comments I attempted to maintain an open discussion on Rand's ideas, but the trolling and rudeness became too much to control. I decided to start a private group. Critics of Rand's ideas and Objectivism are welcome, as is anyone with an interest in libertarian thought. I simply ask for civility, which will be enforced by banning if not heeded after one warning.

Hi Walter-

I hope you're not referring to THIS group having trolls??? I only ever had two problem members here and they left very quickly.

Anyway, it's great to know there is still enough interest in Rand and her philosophy to sustain an entire group. I wish you the best of luck and hope you'll share some of your discussions with us as well!

Walter Foddis | 12 comments No, not this group. I started an open (as in anyone on Goodreads) discussion there here:

If you skim through thread, you'll see my repeated attempts to keep discussion on topic and maintain civility. I eventually decided it was a waste of time. So I privatized it! :)

If you befriend, you're welcome to join. Or if you go to the link above, you can ask to join? I don't know how this works on Goodreads w.r.t. private groups. Can folks who are not my Goodreads friends, join?

I think people request to join and you have to approve. If you are going to run a group of your own, you should join a Moderator Support group. It's very helpful.
