Kenneth | 1 comments Having recently watched the film, reflecting on the anniversary of Martin Luther King's "I have a dream ..." speech today and crudely connecting the two together; I'm interested in understanding the period of the American Civil war and Lincoln in particular. I'd therefore gratefully receive any book recommendations on the above subject. I'm not from the US and I have limited knowledge on this period of history. Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

Nate | 1 comments I would recommend Lincoln on Leadership: Executive Strategies for Tough Times. It gives you some ideas about the man himself and his style as chief executive, and it does put it into context as far as how he conducted himself during the Civil War. While it is a book written as a business-person's self-help book, it does offer good information, and it is highly accessible/readable.
