"A Student" is probably correct. It is a pseudonym. I'd leave it since there is no alternative.

"Andrew Lang" done. Just combined with Andrew Lang and added 'Translated' to book

As far as the secretary of war book is concerned, is there a default author for official US military texts?

I'm not sure of Sec'y of war one other than "by" doesn't belong. I wouldn't think "war" was an actual cabinet position unless some past history trivia I missed. More likely Secretary of Defense or Department of Defense.

That book's title probably should say "US" or "U.S." instead of "Us"
