If you have a blog or some writing online here is the place to link it :3 Specify what it is, too :3

Please don't post to your book download, even if its free. This is for excerpts, short stories and anyone who has a writing themed blog :3

Here is my site, I post writing themed things (new one tomorrow!), reviews and also the first draft of my first chapter is on the excerpt page :3

Brenda Tirado (brendaoxotee) Hi, I have a profile where I post some of my stories/poetry. This is a neat site which lets you read other people's work as well.

Here is my site: http://www.readwave.com/brendaoxotee/

@Brenda I'm on readwave! I just haven't put anything up yet. I shall take a look :3

@Kirsty you were supposed to let people know what they were clicking on instead of just promoting and putting your sites here... So far thats all you've done since joining, you're less likely to get likes and views if we don't know who you are :x

Rick Soper (RickSoper) | 169 comments I write like a maniac at my blog www.rockhardpress.com on everything from book reviews, to movie reviews, to my own thoughts on writing in general

I find http://www.redwoodsmedicaledge.com to be very helpful because the author is a medical professional who advises other authors on medical questions like how to kill people and stuff like that.

http://sharonstevensonauthor.com is a great blog with a lot of book reviews and author interviews and other fun stuff

http://russellblake.com with blog posts that start like "I was arm wrestling a Cajun bare-knuckle brawler at the bar last night after winning a lightning round of the Indian knife game against a mute prospector named Poncho, and a thought came to me as I wiped beads of sweat from my forehead with the grimy back of my free hand..." how can you not be entertained, and on top of that he offers a lot of good writing advice

Robert James | 16 comments Here is my blog for my book series, WHO Won?!? An Irreverent Look at the Oscars. One of the fun things there are a series of yearly polls with an introduction for that year in the movies. You can go pick what you think should have won the Best Picture of any year from 1927-1944 (more years getting added weekly!)

1927 starts here, with the others linked after it: http://rjameswhowon.wordpress.com/201...

Here's my website: www.spycherbooks.com

There synopsises and a few samples from my novels/short stories.
And I also write a very personal blog. It's more about my feelings on general life than exclusively on writing, so I won't blame you if you don't read every post ^^

message 20: by Ren (new)

Ren Williams (anxiousgeek) | 21 comments Do you self host the blog?

message 21: by Bisky (new)

Bisky Scribbles (bisky_scribbles) | 2536 comments Mod
Its on my brothers server. You can get one through wordpress just the same :] I've not had that many hits on it though, I'm going to do a tumblr for more funny things where as I just Blog about writing. I Vlog about random things too on the YouTubes. Its just finding the right platform for you.

I should ad that although I haven't had many hits, its still alot considering how little I've been using it lately because of editing/school/language course consistency is the key :3

message 23: by Ren (new)

Ren Williams (anxiousgeek) | 21 comments I used to have a self-hosted wordpress now it's hosted on wordpress atm. I like the extra features on wordpress hosted blogs. I'm not sure if those features are available on self hosted ones. I have a tumblr, a writing one and a general/personal/fandom one, but I don't think I like my writing tumblr much as my main writing blog. I might just make another writing blog, and then duplicate onto tumblr or something.

Steve Downes (stevedownes) | 53 comments I've cobbled together a webpage for myself, but it's a bit sparse http://stevedownesauthor.webs.com/ suggestions and tips most welcome, also what is Tumblr like?

message 26: by Ren (new)

Ren Williams (anxiousgeek) | 21 comments Tumblr is great for fandom but I'm not sure about anything else. Also it's a total time suck and you tend to post 90% other stuff 10% your own.

message 27: by Robin (new)

Robin Morgan (robinleighmorgan) If anyone would like to get some ideas for some off-line marketing/promoting of your book[s]. You're invited to check out an entry I did on my website when I began to write in earnest.

message 28: by Topaz (new)

Topaz Winters (topazwinters) On Tumblr - I personally don't think it's a great resource for writers, unless they're also crazy fangirls who like reblogging everything in sight (aka me). ;) If y'all are looking for a platform to start blogging, I'd advise going with Wordpress or Blogger.

My website (mostly my poetry, songs, short stories, and other bits and pieces) - http://www.topazwinters.wordpress.com

Jennifer Hawes (little_red_writes) | 143 comments My blog is jenniferswritingrevolution.blogspot.com I hope to create an author web page in the next month:) my author friend recommended GoDaddy?!? Never done this b4!!

message 34: by Michael (new)

Michael Ray (mcray) @Rhian, I'm not sure what features the Wordpress-hosted blogs give you, but when you self-host a Wordpress blog you can get pretty much anything you want from plugins and themes. They can sometimes be buggy and sometimes you'll have to dip into the code, but there are tons of possibilities.

For my own site, I'm leaning towards minimalism these days, though.

My site is a combination of pages that I coded myself along with a blog section that uses Wordpress. I don't post nearly as often as I should, but what I do is mostly all book/writing related. I've been planning to start a series of author interviews, but I've been a bit swamped with unrelated work lately.

Anyway, I'm at http://www.michaelcorbinray.com ...

@Jennifer, I use GoDaddy to buy and manage domain names, but I use he.net for hosting my sites. But GoDaddy can host too.

message 35: by Brian (new)

Brian Basham (brianbasham) | 390 comments I blog about writing, and do movie reviews. I try to do both weekly. http://www.Brian-Basham.com

I also have a series that I update weekly. It's all first draft writing, but it's nice to take a break from my current WIP. It's about a highly skilled thief who comes across some armor that grants special abilities. However, there is a cost.
