looks like i've been chosen to pick the february book of the month.
dave egger's 'what is the what' is my pick. here's some more info:

i like eggers. been a fan ever since 'might' magazine a zillion years ago. started reading it already and so far pretty interesting.

yeah, it's a little on the long side, almost 500 pages. plus...small type!
anyway, i'm almost 100 pages into it. 's pretty good so far.

Long AND depressing. Largely a part of why it's taking me so long to read it. It's a good book though.

had no idea there was any "sudden acclaim" on this one. just thought it was a good read. liked the structure of it, too. it is pretty heavy, but it's funny. i thought it worked. i must be getting old because i was, like, touched or something. ha!
